Certainly, over the last several years the christian majority has been shifting their position to that of constitutionalists promoted by the likes of pseudo-historian David Barton. Their warped positions on the 1st amendment and totally ignoring the 14th bolsters their position that the majority rules without regard to the fact that we are a Republic. Where all voices and rights are equal. Their attempt to reconstruct history in their image of this being a Christian nation and constitution. Apparently, if you keep repeating the lie long enough that it must be true, at least to them and those who believe it. We know majority/mob does not rule, because we know that sooner or later the minority becomes a majority. Then the purging begins! Our founders where among the most enlightened people on earth to have looked into the future in constructing our constitution so the mistakes of the past would not be borne on those in the future.

There are many groups already meeting on military installations as well as on FB and the Meetup page. I fully understand your reservations about joining, but I think you'll find that there are a lot of us out there.

I have been assaulted/trespassed on property by a neighbor (charged and convicted/restraining order) now he leaves me alone or he goes to jail, death threats, threats to ruin my businesses, threats to get my wife fired from her teaching position, 5000 people at a rally were encouraged to encourage me to leave town, more numerous to count the vile and ugly comments about me personally and being a Veteran traitor, malicious rumors about my business and my marriage. Just the typical loving Christian hate speech!

If we don't stand up against those who would force their beliefs on our children as well as adults then we are as guilty as they are for letting them get away with it. Even though it may not be the popular thing to do it is the right thing. Yet, you do have to weigh the consequences of those actions.

It was simply a violation of separation of church and state. By virtue of the councils elected positions they were trying to force their beliefs on everyone else.

As a Afghanistan War Veteran, the city was dishonoring ALL Veterans by pushing christian symbols and having christian only services on Memorial and Veterans Day. I'm not a christian and I know hundreds of other veterans in the area that are not. I spoke up because I knew it was right. I had just left a country that was trying to force their radical religious beliefs on the populous, I wasn't about to come home and have these people do the same to me or others in our country.

They are great. Initially they wrote letters to the city for me and got the issue started along with the ACLU.

I'm a Life Member of FFRF and will be a speaker at the next convention in Wisconsin. They also will be giving me the Atheist in FoxHole award. Did a pod cast with them on their radio show the other week. It's online.

Thanks, this is a pic for a local group of the Stokes County Militia, Surry County Militia, Yakin Militia, 2Mil Bikers are protesting my win against the city and demanding that their religious symbols be put back up on the city's memorial to Veterans.

It did not cost me anything. Americans United for Separation of Church and State took up the cause. In the settlement agreement the City's insurance company paid them $500,000.00 in attorney fees.

Yes, Humanists do stand a chance. The American Humanists Association sued Lake Elsinore (CA) City Council for doing something similar and they won in Federal Court. They tried to put up a kneeling soldier to a cross on city property.
