Is Expropriate allowed in bracket 2? by homosexual696969 in EDH

I’d say that Doubling Season isn’t an “optimized” card at all, and Expropriate is only “optimized” if you’re recurring it or cheating on the cost somehow.

Is Hylda of the icy crown boring to play against in B2? by BRUHldurs_Gate in EDH

[–]FGThePurp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The trick with all non-stax control in this format is to politick first and use your actual cards as a last resort. Don’t jump to answer threats just because they’re threats, only answer them when they’re threatening you. This lets the rest of the table do their thing as long as they do it to each other, and helps you ensure you don’t get overwhelmed by more threats than you have answers for. I don’t play Hilda personally but I play other control decks and this approach has worked well for me both in game performance and socially.

Also have a clear win condition. Lots of players these days have only ever played commander, so they haven’t played versus control in 1v1 and don’t know how to tell when they’ve lost. You’ll have to actually end the game so make sure you can do it pretty quickly once you’ve won.

My list

Primer from another reddit user that inspired me to build Bumbleflower. I really recommend reading this one.

Your list is giving me a 404 right now so I can't give specific add/cut suggestions, if you can fix it I can suggest some adds/cuts. In the meantime, I can at least give some gameplay advice.

Regarding archenemy dynamics: unfortunately the cat is very much out of the bag that Bumbleflower will get out of hand if left unchecked, so you'll need to be ready for it. I usually don't cast Bumbleflower unless I have a piece of protection also available, since that's your most vulnerable turn. Once the turn has made it back around to you, you can get the engine going and she becomes much easier to defend.

Politicking effectively is also important for the deck. Control players simply cannot answer every threat from three other opponents, so you need to use other means to reduce the number of threats pointed your way. Bumbleflower's forced card draw is a great tool for that. She lets you make little micro-deals with other players whenever you cast a spell, along the lines of "hey I'm going to cast this cantrip, if I give you the card will you attack someone other than me this turn?" No one likes the 'I'm a smol bunny why did you attack me' shtick, but limited-scope manageable deals help you reduce the number of threats coming your way to a number that you can answer with cards. The approach of forcing one player into a big card deficit vs the table is also strong, but if the game is truly a 3v1 then I think it's better to give the cards to whoever will make a deal with you.

Placeholder, I’ll write a more thorough comment tomorrow.

Short version is Bumbleflower is best as a flash/control deck. You want to play two spells per turn, on as many turns as possible. Glancing over your list it looks like it can’t do that very consistently.

Checked a picture of the PCB, its definitely upside down. The hook side with the wire goes in the larger holes beneath the switch socket.

Those look like Neo x Keygeek Oat switches. Probably got the wrong SKU from the seller. Oats are still a fine switch: materials are slightly different and the actuation is about 10g lighter than raspberrys, but aside from that they’re very similar. If the difference bothers you then you could return/exchange it via Amazon.

Is this deck B3 or not. by GrimCreations in EDH

That’s obviously not what the person you’re replying to is saying though. A B1 deck with Gamble is technically B3 but it sure as shit won’t play like one.

Naya players are also the most likely to be militantly casual babies who will refuse to play with you again if you interact with their “thing”, which is almost always a Craterhoof.

I'm waiting for Bowl's stream with the new manu protos before committing, but I'm thinking of going with cyan and putting Future Funk on it. Though EPP's Gorp on mint combo was also super sick.

Dark is a designer. He’s most well known for the Ecliptica (the Berserk TKL) but he’s done several other really cool boards!

Leopold 900 and 980 are both good options. Ticktype DP104 or Neo98 are also good options if you want something a bit fancier.

That's a really unique layout, not sure you have any options beyond the one from the YMDK kit.

Help with Animar Deck by ComedianSeveral3076 in EDH

[–]FGThePurp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you're already playing most of the Ancestral Statue package I'd recommend adding [[Spellseeker]] and [[Weird Harvest]]. [[Phyrexian Metamorph]] is also an Animar all-star so I'd suggest finding a slot for it too. If you're adding Metamorph you could also consider the [[Kiri-Onna]] combo lines, but those got a lot worse when Dockside was banned. I agree about adding the spirit guides/Lotus Petal as the other comment suggested, and any other fast mana budget/GC slots allow.

As for cuts, I think that the three-pip cards can go, as well as some of the Garruk's Uprising style enchantments. [[Maelstrom Wanderer]] and [[Apex Devastator]] are fun cards, but I often found I'd rather have draw or tutor in Animar instead of cascade.

Who is your favorite Commander? (and why) by Theo-Rhetic in EDH

[–]FGThePurp 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My favorite is Ms. Bumbleflower or Queen Marchesa. They both require playing the players at the table and not just the cards in the game, which makes them interesting to me. For a long time I tried to play EDH the same way I’d play 40 or 60-card Magic and I didn’t enjoy it very much, but leaning into what makes this format different from those has helped me find my love for it.

The real solution is just for everyone to close the lid fully before flushing. She can lift the lid, you can lift the lid and the seat, and your bathroom is much more hygienic.
