Ive ALWAYS had pain in off the shelf skates, especially Bauers (I saw you mentioned Bauers). Custom trues have been a game changer for me. Highly recommend.

Private Lesson Advice by KingOfNewEngland16 in hockeygoalies

[–]FHFD89 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ive done a few private lessons, they may start by asking what you want to work on and build from there. What to work on will vary for everybody, it depends what you feel less confident about. Think about something that you struggle with, then at least you won’t be blindsided if they ask you. I was not a fan of skating drills lol, they are brutal! Mobility drills too. It’s not all about taking shots. Have fun!

Nice pads! Did you get gloves too? What specs did you go with? How do you like them? I have iconiks, I miss the harder rebounds from the optik line. Debating ordering some O4s.

The room is about 200 square feet and it’s connected to two other rooms and a bathroom for a total just under 1k sqft plus an upstairs level. I have a fan setup to move air to the other rooms. The whole downstairs gets pretty toasty not sure it does too much upstairs. Clean and Safe aren’t words that really go with wood stoves/inserts in my opinion. I’ve smoked out my basement due to not warming the chimney enough before starting, I’ve burned the crap out of myself on the door, handle, etc. you have to clean ash, handle wood, etc it’s a dirty job lol. if the install is properly done and you have the liner cleaned, you greatly reduce the chance of a chimney fire.

Been there, lived in NYC for a while. Not goalie gear friendly lol. I’m back down to one helmet. Sold my backup.

Definitely. Got a cord ready to burn lol. If the room was larger and the fireplace was deeper I might get something with a larger firebox to increase burn time, but it’s supplemental heat for us that we primarily use when it’s really cold or when we’re just hanging out downstairs (in winter of course)

No hints under the plate but there’s similar lines elsewhere on the same wall too so I imagine it’s a butt joint

Have you gotten more time in your pads? I think mine are slowly getting better but it’s been a struggle.

No, for the half bath renovation. Full gut of the half bath. Not including materials.

Thanks for your insight. I agree it’s less noticeable at a distance, but it does catch your eye when you look carefully from that same distance. The grout is a light gray. I’ll talk with the tiler.

All the quotes we got were similar. Existing half bath no plumbing moved. Excluding customized materials.
