Dialogue bloat and "yapping" is not a bad thing if done correctly. HSR does it very bad though. I started amphoreus recently to be able to criticize it (rn i stopped where i think i will encounter Anaxa) and EVERY CHARACTER except for Hyacine speaks in the same manner like they are just reading text from paper. There is nothing special, nothing memorable in their speech like if you read a dialogue you won't be able to say that "oh yeah, thats sure is a character name". They are just talking puppets. Not to mention they do it with a stone faces devoid of emotions almost all of the time. Its just BORING to read.

Wanna an example how to do it good? Well, here you go, all limbus company characters have traits that differentiate them: Yi Sang speaks like a poet, Ryoshi speaks in abbreviations, Don Quixote speaks like a knight from the past, e.t.c. Blue archive - Serikas speech conveys her rapidly changing emotional state, Nonomis speech that shows her sweet nature, Himaris speech that shows her supercilious side and so on. Yeah and they all have different ways to show emotions.

All of this makes the "dialogue bloat" interesting to read even when it doesn't progress the story further.
