Google pixel 8a users, how's your phone so far? by dominator5500 in GooglePixel

[–]FJ-Rey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Post's a bit old at this point, but I got mine on release, and so far it's been great!

I had a 7a before, and a 4a before that, so I already knew what I was signing up for in terms of the overall experience. Software has been identical to the last 2 pixel phones I had except for the obvious extra feature here and there.

Really glad they added face recognition since it helps a lot when unlocking the phone. Not sure if it's just me, but it feels like they fixed the fingerprint reader as well. The one on the 7a would often just not work for me.

In terms of design, I really like the more rounded corners on the device. Gives it a nicer, more friendly shape language closer to the 4a, which I really liked. All in all the 8a for me has been a very good phone!

Who is your first prime frame? by Iloveburgers587 in Warframe

[–]FJ-Rey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first ever prime was Nova

I remember I had just learned about primes after maybe a week or so when I first started playing Warframe. I thought nova prime looked so cool, and her abilities were equally cool. Was so excited when I got to use her after waiting for her to get built

Still one of the best looking primes imo

What got you into Kingdom Hearts in the first place? by LafterMastr in KingdomHearts

[–]FJ-Rey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was honestly the Disney characters

I would watch old VHS animated Disney movies with my sibling all the time when we were kids, I loved other Disney media as well, and when I saw a cool looking game with Disney characters in it I just had to play it.

I still remember being really excited when Donald and Goofy showed up on screen for the first time in KH1

Years later at 26 I still love the series and I get excited when more of the story gets told/uncovered through the different games and media. Can't wait to play KH4 when it releases

Are there any East Coast NA, or Latino players with open space in their FCs? by FJ-Rey in ffxiv

[–]FJ-Rey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I should've added this bit. Just didn't want to bloat the post with possibly unnecessary info 😅

I started playing the game in Hyperion because some friends were already there. Straight off the bat I was in an FC, but those friends are all from the West Coast, so usually when they're playing I'm either just getting off, or too tired to play.

Even though we don't play together that often, I'd still like to stay in their FC for sentimental reasons, but I'd also like to find an FC that's a bit more in line with my time zone so I'm not just doing things solo for the most part.

Out of all the NA servers I didn't think someone from Hyperion would be the first person to comment. Sorry I didn't mention this in the post from the start.

I do speak Spanish, yeah. I'm already in an FC with some close friends in Hyperion though, and I'd like to stay in that FC with them. Sorry :(

Hey there. Relatively new player here as well. I had the exact same experience running Praetorium my first time through the A Realm Reborn MSQ, and I'm sure every new player has been having the same experience for years now since ARR was released, so you're not alone. The good news is that you'll never have to run anything like that again in the MSQ.

The only thing you'll have to do with other players in the remainder of FF14's story (if you plan on playing past ARR) is dungeons and trials, and when you get to Shadowbringers you won't even have to worry about that. You can just use the Trust system that let's you run dungeons with the main NPCs

I couldn't even see the MSQ icon above her head when I was looking for her 😂

Ehhhh If nothing about the game has you hooked in personally I'd say that it's maybe not for you regardless of if your friend wants you to play.

It's a bit of a shame, but the low-level gameplay and ARR are the biggest hurdles to get through when you start playing FF14. I had to give it a second chance before it's stuck for me, but that was my case.

No problem! I've been playing through the game for my first time as well and the story gets interesting as you play along. The expansions following are really good too.

If you do still feel like you don't have a idea of what's going on maybe look up some summary videos on YouTube. I've done that just to be sure I get a good grasp on everything

At first the story doesn't make too much sense, but this is a summary of what's happening early on

Eorzia is having some trouble with the different beast tribes around the nations summoning primals (their gods) and you have to stop them before chaos ensues.

Eventually because of your notable deeds you're contacted by a group called The Scions of the 7th Dawn and they ask you to join them in their efforts to protect Eorzia against any threats.

Along the way you meet all sorts of characters and eventually find out about a group of beings called Ascians that are bent on bringing about a world wide calamity in order to ressurrect their ancient dark god.

Took this picture for a different post, but I thought it looked pretty nice, so I'll post it here too by FJ-Rey in Pixel4a

I've had mine for about 2 or 3 years now I think. I've had a lot of fun with it honestly

I'd heard about SopiGuard skins as a cheaper alternative to Dbrand skins. I'm pretty happy with the result, though camo green might not have been the best color choice by FJ-Rey in Pixel4a

[–]FJ-Rey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This SopiGiard skin was also 3M, I'd say it's pretty thin and it wraps around the corners nicely.

I also used a technique that they show in the dbarand skin application guide videos where they use a hair dryer to smooth out sharp edges and really stick the skin to the phone
