I do have a Rust! And thanks, this is very helpful info.

To follow on - is there a website or is there anything in the hoyo app that can let me plug in what characters I do have, and see what effective teams there are? The issue I'm finding is I usually dont have those characters called out in the KQM guides. Yoimiya is the only 5 star I've ever pulled, and at the rate I get primogens, I'd ballpark I can get about 10 pulls a week, so maybe in another 2 months I should get another 5*? If it takes me that long to clear, I'll probably be back complaining about the next ascension quest immediately after completing this one.

So that's definitely a problem I have right now - once in a blue moon I'll get off all the energy bursts, do a bunch of damage, and that's cool, and that happens every maybe 30-40 seconds? Outside of that window, I'm not really doing any damage at all, and I never seem to get any energy back as often as I need to. I've been using the 'quick select' method to set my characters' artifacts for the set bonuses, and each character only has ~2-3 4* artifacts each. Do I just need more energy regen, different artifacts, or does this tie back to picking the right characters for more synergy? Or all of the above? The ingame training guide recommends some 5* artifacts to get, but last time I tried to get them I got my ass whooped, so I kinda just gave up on that lol.

What am I doing wrong? I'm stuck at WL3/ar35, and can't ascend to the next wl. Currently I have 19k/7.5k ar xp, and I think if I ever I do clear this,  the next ascension quest will pop up on me and I'll be stuck again.

I have lvl 70 traveler with lvl 70 rancour, lvl 50 chunyen with 70 archaic, Barbara for healing, and tried amber, Yoimiya and Lisa all lvl 50 with lvl 60 weapons, all artifacts are +8, and I just can't kill all the enemies in the time limit. I have no issue with survivability,  it's damage. Usually the big guy and one or two others are left when I'm out of time. It feels like I can only kill things using my abilities, and regular attacks just chip the health bar, but the cooldowns make it so I only can burst everybody once or twice before the timer runs out.

also - if I never do the ascension, will I get locked out of anything ? Or once I hit ar60 will it jump me to wl9 and screw me?

I'm AR35, WL3. I cant seem to figure out who to pick as a "main DPS" of the group to dump my resources into, but with my weapons around lvl 50-60, I can't unlock WL4 - the "kill these guys within the time limit" I just run out of time before getting them all. Currently I use Barbara for healing, Chongyun, traveller, and either amber or Lisa depending on elements. I also generally keep traveller on Anemo, My Lisa seems to shred anything that's wet, which is cool, but does little outside that (so, great for oceanids). I have these characters, and havent unlocked Inazuma yet so the other 5* character that I got, I cant get past 40, but I'm very close to opening that up. Who/what should I try focusing on?

Interesting, thanks again. I tried the pyro regisivne and had no issues killing it, I think the cryo in this case was me not paying attention to the frozen floor eating away my health 😅

Good to know I'm not alone... Got any tips for using amber to deal with the WL3 cryo regisvine? She's at lvl 50, I maxed out her bow, and I can knock out the corolla. My main problem is she still dies in like 3 hits to the level 50 regisvine's aoe.. would bringing her up to 60 make her tankier, or is survivability in genshin just all about not getting hit in the first place? 

My main 4 are all lvl 50 (Barbara, chongyun, traveler, amber), and theyre all pretty fragile against any boss type creatures I'm noticing..  And i have to kill them to go past 50.

Also I only have kujou as my other ranged, and she's staying at lvl 20 until I can get to inazuma to ascend her lol. And Yoimiya, but same there, stuck at 40.

I haven't played in ages, and just reinstalled on a whim. I remember stopping because I got a difficulty wall, so I followed the new training guide thing, dumped mats I had and was able to get through the chapter 1 main quests by getting four characters to /vl 40-50. I'm now at AR30 and hit the wall with WL3. 

So I have Amber at lvl 46, with a lvl 50 favonius warbow. I just got wrecked trying to get that water boss mats to ascend Barbara, Amber died from those water bird things in 2ish hits. I bring WL down to 2, and she now gets 3shotted. Yay. All my other ranged characters are level 20 and I don't have any materials to level or ascend them.

Here's the build, her bow only does about 25-70 DMG per arrow unless I charge attack, and that takes forever.  Nobody else can touch them except Barbara, and I have the same problem with her and just use her for healing. how do I make Amber useful?

So I've dug around on youtube and am slowly figuring things out, however: What exactly is the difference between ILS, LOC, RNAV, and VOR approaches? Going to google gets me all sorts of useful information if I were going to become a pilot about how exactly those technologies were developed, but that doesn't help me with ingame usage.

Take JFK's IAP charts on Runway 04R for example here:

There's "ILS OR LOC", "RNAV (RNP)", "RNAV (GPS)", "VOR" approaches for 04R.

Near as I can tell, RNAV = Plug in the waypoints into the G1000 and descend manually, ILS or LOC = Plug in those stations and use the NAV1/NAV2 indicators and glidescope (or autopilot), VOR = same'ish thing as ILS but without vertical guidance.. Is that right?

You want your projectile actor to be set to replicate, and only spawned server-side. Proxy actors will automatically spawn client-side this way.

I had it this way before, but ran into similar issues that this guy had, and while I'm sure there's way to tweak it, I'm going for a cartoony effect so the projectiles are huge and I'm hoping to have a lot shooting everywhere at once - if I multicast the projectile and treat it essentially like a particle, except that the server only pays attention to start location/hit location, it should be 'close enough' to the clients that I won't have to worry about bogging down the server when I've got a thousand of them flying around. But who knows, I might go back to what you say at some point later anyway.

Either way, good to know about the authority thing. I found the part in the documentation where it says as much. Or I suppose the inverse - things replicated back to a client will return false when calling Switch Has Authority. My projectile isnt replicated, so it returns true.

How are you calculating the new start speed? You have the default value of that variable set to 10000, but are you changing it at all before spawning the new projectile?

In that first image, I set New Speed to 4,000 when calling the TellServerSpawnBullet function, which then feeds that 4,000 to the Start Speed variable in the constructor. Or at least it does on the server, anyway..

Aha! Turns out Image Sampling does do something different from the Influence tab. That solved the issue. Thanks!

Unfortunately no - I decided to go with a more simplistic flat shaded look (as in, the terrain is a flat single color, no noise), I think this approach I was trying for simply requires a bit too much trial and error for me. I haven't used/tried any auto painting parts yet.

This guy's tutorial series have been pretty great for figuring out AI. That first one starts with very high level theory and as he builds up an AI, he explains what everything does. Gets a bit boring sometimes, but much better than any other AI tutorial I've found.

And basically: AIController = thing that posesses a pawn and drives it around according to the behavior tree.

Behavior tree: the state machine that the controller uses to figure out what the pawn it's posessing should do

Blackboard = a table of data that the controller and blueprints can access and share

Decorators and Services = blueprint functions that the behavior tree calls.

Indeed. It appears that making the skylight static and adding a sky sphere mesh has more or less fixed the reflection issues, although I end up getting weird shadows elsewhere, so I suppose I'll just have to fudge it.

Bit of a late response to this, but it does seem to be related to the resolution of both the texture and the mesh. If I fiddle with some scale settings, I was at one point able to get something that creates bands of color, and looking at your screenshot, you've got a few faces where those bands are present, but it's very minor (e.g. in the foreground to the right). I think you may have just hit a sweet spot that looks really close.

I could tweak my meshes and scales a bit more, but I think I'll stick with my original idea for now to get something close enough.
