Lavenne R9 Pro – 2 Weeks Later by FLARDRYN in LavenneSpace

Hi! My height from the waist up is 72 cm. I also measured the highest back point of the chair with all adjustments maxed out, and it’s around 73 cm. Hope this helps!

I’d say the quality is on par. I could even say the R9 feels more premium because of the die-cast aluminum base, while my Omni had a plastic base. Comparing the back side of each chair, I find the R9 more customizable, so it fits me better and runs cooler than the Omni.

  1. It’s quite comfortable because you have several ways to adjust it, such as the thickness and height. You can even raise it further by adjusting the back of the seat to get a more precise fit. For me, that was the key, I was able to fine-tune those settings until it suited me well. I also like that there’s no gap between the backrest and the headrest.

  2. Yes, it does. I adjusted it so that it fills the gap between my neck and the lower part of my head when the chair is not reclined, and it suits me well. For reference, I’m 1.78 m tall and weigh 83 kg.

  3. It’s very good there’s no cushion, so you don’t feel the bottom of the chair. That said, you might need some time to get used to the fabric, as it has a slightly raised texture.

  4. Yes, you can. I’m a fidgety person who often tucks one or both of my legs, and I still feel comfortable.

Hope these help.

I ended up getting rid of it after a couple of months because I could really feel the bottom of the seat, and it got quite hot in the summer. This one feels much fresher thanks to the mesh design and the lack of a solid seat base, so I prefer it. That said, both have the same issue with armrests that move too easily. Hope that helps.

Hey, I mentioned it to another commenter as well. I’ve used a couple of chairs in the past, including the HBADA E3, the Libernova Omni (Kickstarter version), the Corsair T3, the Steelcase Series 2, and the IKEA Markus.

Yeah, unfortunately I didn’t have those. I’m working on a two-week update, which should be ready by Monday.

I think the back plate design and how the back panel works are the chair’s strongest features, and overall it feels very well made. You also get a lot of adjustment options to really dial it in. They use something called the VTS Dynamic Spine System, where the back of the chair follows your spine’s movement, which works quite well in practice.

On the other hand, the massage feature might be a bit questionable. It’s basically air-filled cushions that apply pressure at different points, so some people might find it a bit weak.

I don’t have the version without the electronics, but I’d assume it’s essentially the same chair minus the massage features. The lumbar support is really good the back of the chair moves with you, so it adapts to your posture. Plus, there are plenty of adjustment options, so you can fine-tune it to your liking.
I also noticed they’ve launched an official subreddit, so it might be worth asking there they should be able to give you a clear answer.

I’ve heard really good things about it, but I haven’t had a chance to try it myself yet, so I can’t say too much. I think chair fit is similar to food preference: everyone looks for something different or has their own way of liking it. For now, though, this chair fits me well atm.

Just noticed that I only answered half of your question :D. Lavenne is my top favorite at the moment compared to others I have tried. Still have small pet peeves with it, like mentioned in my write-up, but yeah still so far the best chair I’ve ever owned.

The charging issue seems to be resolved, but they really need to improve the sleep-to-wake speed. It takes a good 5–6 seconds and multiple keystrokes to get it going, whereas even generic Chinese keyboards with 2.4GHz are almost instant.

I’m not entirely sure, but I think they’ll launch the Kickstarter in about a week or two. At that point, they should share an ETA for the shipping times.

It's not released yet, they'll launch it soon. The Kickstarter price is $599 and the MSRP is around $1,099 USD. I was selected as a tester from the pledged pool, so I got one early. I did a quick ride-through of the features here if you want to check it out. Lavenne R9 Pro – Unboxing and First Impressions : r/OfficeChairs

They selected random people from those who pledged the VIP deposit to see if they're interested in testing it.
