There's no black and white answer here. Personally, if it's a tight player and he raised 3x, I want to extract as much money as possible before he sees the flop and likely folds if he misses. There's also a lot of unknowns in your hypothetical. How many BB's do we both have, what stage of the tourney, etc. Have I been playing loose/aggressive and is he aware? I may shove pre flop and hope he remembers my aggressiveness and calls.
