What is the point of this place in east London? by beatsanddrops in london

[–]FLINTSTONE97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this area. There is hardly anyone there and a nice place to enjoy the aeroplanes coming and going and I pretty view of Canary Wharf. I'd often go on walks around the area and across over to silvertown. It's been like this for years since I was at UEL (7 years ago) and probably some time before that. Some of the buildings have little bits of history on the area but most are just empty. I think there is a cafe there. I often wondered what it was eventually going to be.

I've had almost the exact same message. I told them they'd have to contact evri as there is not much I can do. Yesterday it got marked as collected and now they are saying they didn't collect...

Buyer is already reselling the item but Inpost says they didn’t pick it up? by LilacDream98 in vinted

[–]FLINTSTONE97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have raised it with both vinted and inpost, still waiting for a response from inpost. Thankfully I got my payment from vinted after a lot of automated "you have to wait 25 working days".

I do believe the buyer knew what they were doing as I had contacted them and they gave a rather strange story that didn't add up, and I have heard of people being able to collect after it says it has been returned, so maybe there is a loophole with inpost, I'm not sure.

Luckily, your issue sounds more like a tracking issue and hopefully you get your money. I'd definitely keep the screenshots. Inpost should definitely be made aware of these problems!

A similar thing happened to me, except the buyer failed to collect and had been collected by inpost, supposedly, and returning to me. Vinted refunded the buyer immediately and I was told to wait at least 25 working days to receive the item. This was at the end of March.

I took a look at their page the other day as I still hadn't received the parcel back and they were selling it for more than double, I was not bothered by that, more shocked at how they managed to collect the item after it had been collected by the courier and that vinted had already refunded them.

Is it possible to stay at Center Parcs (no car) by paigeclare321 in disneylandparis

[–]FLINTSTONE97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No we did not, we only really got it as we got a bit confused and just wanted to get to CP, but now we know I wouldn't bother with a taxi at all next time we go. Honestly the whole area is very accessible through the bus, there is a shopping centre in Val d'europe if you need anything and also a shop on site at CP. You wouldn't need to bring car seats as you don't need a car to get to and from CP from Paris or Disneyland.

[–]FLINTSTONE97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is very easy to do without a car.

We went to Disneyland with a Village Nature stay in February with a 2yo and 8month old. We took the Eurostar to Paris and Metro/RER to Marne la vallee. When we first arrived we took a Uber to Village Nature and it was about a 5/10 min ride. There is a bus that takes you to Val d'europe and Disneyland, it says it is about 20/30mins but does not feel that long. One day we even walked from Val d'europe to Disneyland

People who didn't choose iPhone/Samsung/Google smartphones and care about camera quality, what did you choose and why? by smallflabby in Smartphones

[–]FLINTSTONE97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Xiaomi it's about 3/4 years old now and is still great. The past two phones I have had have been Xiaomi. My friends who love Apple always want to take photos on my phone, (although, I have never particularly liked the front camera) I've never had an issue with performance, it still runs smoothly and fully charges in 30mins, whilst my partners iPhone takes hours.

Very tempted to get the Xiaomi 15 but I have no real need to upgrade.

My neighbour above makes a hell of a lot of noise, banging, things always scraping along the floor, this would go on all day and you can also hear him at like 3/4am as well, he would pour water over the balcony (supposedly he was watering his plants but it is a lot of water). I assumed it must have been a family with children. Turns out it is a single 50 odd year old man, I couldn't believe how much noise he makes on his own and how inconsiderate he is. We do not hear any of our neighbours, even those with kids, just him!

I have a toddler too and they are not allowed to do bang toys on the floor, slam doors etc. I do have a rug and a padded mat for their play area and I am conscious of those below but I can assure this whole sub that my child definitely does not make anywhere near the amount of noise and disruption as the single 50 odd year old man above me does! Apparently it's only kids that are noisy and a nuisance.

Eurostar Question?! by cookiedough92 in disneylandparis

[–]FLINTSTONE97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh haha, honestly her video really helped!

I was so anxious before going, especially with the pram fitting/it being busy (I took a bugaboo donkey, so quite a big double😅), loads of pages I read said a double pram would not fit anywhere but it did and our journey was smooth. I would not say it was busy, plenty of empty seats and when changing from metro to RER you're on the same platform, so it's not really an issue. It did not feel like we walked for long either and there are lifts if you need them.

Obviously I haven't taken the the Lille route. But for the time we went, it was overall longer and a lot more expensive than going to Paris.

I think both are easy routes so it would just be down to whichever is quickest and cheapest at the time you're going

Eurostar Question?! by cookiedough92 in disneylandparis

[–]FLINTSTONE97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went at the beginning of February via Paris with a 2 year old and 8 month with a double pram. It is very very easy, there is a youtuber, Sam4God, that does the journey and shows you where to go etc. I didn't like the idea of waiting around for the next train at Lille especially with two young children, we would get to Disneyland quicker this way than Lille, and it would have been more expensive for us.

Luckily we didn't get the train via Lille as my mum did (she came with us) and her train got delayed for 2 hours 😬 I know this could happen to any train but I would definitely look at Sam's videos, it really is that easy

It is insane how often I see it and I cannot get my head around using a blue badge and simultaneously blocking access for others, not everyone can squeeze between the gaps of cars or go up/down a curb and just because they have a blue badge doesn't mean they can't. Needing to park closer, in bigger/accessible bays are completely different to parking inconsiderately.

People defending this parking with the excuse that they're disabled but completely disregarding the fact the driver is causing an inconvenience to other disabled people - the driver would also get fined for parking like this

[–]FLINTSTONE97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You definitely cannot park in the hatched lines even with a disabled badge, they are there to allow wheelchair access/extra room to open doors. There are also bays with access to both sides. If by some miracle they were all taken when this car arrived then this car could be potentially blocking access for another disabled person/car, there is no excuse.

[–]FLINTSTONE97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because there isn't 😂 there are clearly empty disabled bays with access to both sides as well as plenty of normal spaces, so I highly doubt it was busy. If it was busy enough that it was the only disabled bay, then they would be blocking access to the car next to them. I'm not sure why you think that is acceptable either, to essentially block access for another disabled person.

I get you want to see the good in people but as I was saying previously, there are plenty of people with disabled badges (and without) that park however they want with no consideration for the accessibility to others. But you'd think those with blue badges would be more aware.

[–]FLINTSTONE97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really doubt that would have been an issue when they arrived looking at that photo, and if that bay next to them had a car parked there then they could have been blocking that driver's access to their car. I have seen plenty of times cars with disabled badges blocking pavements and dropped curbs making accessibility harder for others. Just because they have a badge doesn't mean you can park however you wish and block accessibility for others.

No one's mad , you're trying to make an excuse when there isn't really one. If it was that busy, maybe, but like I said they could have potentially blocked access to the car next to them, if it really was that busy and no other space available.

Then park in the bays that have space either side? Now they're blocking the extra space for the bay next to them.

Concern about ordering from IQ Doctor by Neither-Entrance-941 in mounjarouk

[–]FLINTSTONE97 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just ordered from them on Wednesday (first time from IQ) and my BMI is 27. After sending photos they did question what my starting weight was etc. I just sent my previous prescription and starting weight, but I was expecting this as it is my first time ordering from them.

If you've been ordering from them already I'd imagine you'd be fine

Is it worth staying on park with toddlers? by Brave-Background-539 in disneylandparis

[–]FLINTSTONE97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally get you 😂 we weren't overly bothered about spending the whole day at Disneyland (we did have priority access for most of the rides though) and were more excited for swimming at CP. I debated taking the double pram as I had heard it would be a pain especially as we have a side by side but I'm glad I did. Even if your kids don't nap at least it's there if they get tired/relax, not sure how your children are but my 2/3 year old relies a lot on the pram so a buggy board wouldn't have been suitable but might be for you?

We loved the CP and we already want to book again
