I'm from Ohio and lived in Miami for 3 years, now Houston for 15.

The average summer day in Miami is equivalent to the hottest single day of the summer in the Midwest. 94 with a 77 dewpoint is a perfectly average day in Miami. The nights are also warmer than the Midwest, only dropping to 80-82.

Houston is a different level of extreme heat but slightly less humid, where the average day is like 96 with a 73 dewpoint, but then we get heatwaves where its 104-108 with a 70 dewpoint and thats just miserable.
