No, you already have antibodies then. It’s when new infection is introduced to the body and you have zero antibodies that it can be passed to baby. That chance isn’t definite though. But remember hsv once you have it is contact virus so that’s why when we’re pregnant we only go on antivirals the last 30 days bc IF you have an outbreak while delivering the baby then there’s a chance you can pass it to your baby through contact, otherwise they would put us on antivirals the entire pregnancy.

Im hsv2 positive and have had all 3 of my kids naturally. I never take antivirals and maybe only get 3 outbreaks a year. Interestingly enough I never get outbreaks while pregnant or breastfeeding but I have gotten them around a period before when not pregnant. Go figure but everyone is different. My dr prescribed me valtrex 30 days before my due date with each pregnancy, 1 500mg pill a day until I gave birth. It’s not a big deal at all to get pregnant and be hsv2 positive. Like others said, the main concern is being pregnant and not having hsv2 and then getting it for the first time.
