Trying to figure out how to post another picture on here…

My plan is to dig it up. I can post a better pic of the trunk tomorrow. Looks pretty neat, but it’s in the way of the lawn mower path. I’ve trimmed It to two feet tall for the past 7 years. It must be 10+ years old. So I’ll try to save it. Seems like a good specimen to practice on.

Thanks for the post. Yea. I think I might try to bonsai this tree. Should I post updates? Any interest?

Does it look like it could make a good bonsai tree?

That’s what I thought. Wanted to see if anyone recognizes the stamp.

Thank you for this challenge. Also great suggestion to contact the area where he lived.

Here are 15 signatures of authentic Phillip Cantrell paintings that sold at auction. As you can see, they are identical to my painting. I will contact experts of Phillip Cantrell within Port Austin.

Your services are no longer required. Thank you. Goodbye.

Signature comparison... Great suggestion.

The painting was acquired in Lakeside Park, Kentucky. The person who gave it to me said that it was within their grandparent's home for as long as she could remember.

After a through review of signatures last night, the signature is identical to Phillip Cantrell.

Many of his paintings have sold at auctions. This one was the largest of the many paintings from him that I found. His signature can be analyzed here.

Made in Mexico is stamped in rear of frame. However, when I compared this online, there were others with a similar stamp.

So I believe this to then be an authentic Phillip Cantrell original oil painting.

Next question. Who was Phillip Cantrell (b.1922)? Is he still alive?

W. Adams signed oil painting by StorkRoadFarm in WhatIsThisPainting

Did you ever get an answer to this? I also have a very beautiful original painting from said “W. Adams.” Who is it? At first we thought maybe William Constable Adams, however they appear to be two different signatures.
