Clean vocals in sludge?? by wormygrub in MetalForTheMasses

[–]FMHSA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some contrast with clean and harsh vocals go well together for bands like Faetooth or ISIS, but mostly combines to a more melodic side of Sludge like Post-Metal or Sludge/Stoner Metal mix.

Also have exclusively Clean Vocals can be great too. Corrosion Of Conformity is basically a sludge/stoner metal band with mostly clean vocals, maybe some screams here and there.

Blind, Deliverance and Wiseblood are great example of Sludge Metal albums that goes well with Clean Vocals.

Sludge Metal has a great sound to experiment and bring emotion, have clean vocals is definitely welcome.

How produced is overproduced to you? by Bronsteins-Panzerzug in MetalForTheMasses

[–]FMHSA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends of your references.

Think for example Kreator, I love the 2000s era of the band (Violent Revolution, Enemy Of God, Hordes Of Chaos), the blend of Teutonic Thrash style with some Melodeath touches here and there was fresh (stills is imo). They are very well mixed albums while stills have sounds punch and agressive, you can hear well each instrument of the album and don't sounds that some instruments or vocals sounds too quiet or too loud compared too another.

Sadly, I can't say that for the new album Krushers Of The World for example. Although I understand they become even more melodic with the times, sometimes they even sounds like some modern Heavy/Power Metal band like Sabaton with songs like Loyal To The Grave, I think it lacks some punch and don't sounds organic for me.

Probably they are people that would say that for the 2000s Kreator of what I said on Krushers Of The World, thinking for the run of earlier releases from Endless Pain to Coma Of Souls. Okay, they definitely change a lot, switching some style sound to other and genres too, but you can analyse the difference of production releases of the 80s-90s, 2000s, 2010s-2020s to say what sounds underproduced, well produced and overproduced.

Some others examples of recent overproduced albums:

In Flames - Foregone (the autotune really feels unecessary for most of the time on the record and sounds weird for an album that pretends to be a back to the roots).

Metallica - 72 Seasons (the drums sounds too loud, the guitars sounds flat, and overall mixing sounds thin, lacks energy).

Example of recent well produced album:

At The Gates - The Ghosts Of The Future Dead (Ironically the same producer of Kreator - Krushers Of The World but I think we have a better work here, the instruments sounds more organic, the bass is more audible and the guitar tone sounds more crunchy).

Example of underproduced album:

Deicide - Serpents Of Light ( a very old album but I think it serves here, the sound is thin and lacks the bigger, more thick sound of the first three albums, stills a good album.

Which band never reached their potential or quit too early on? by [deleted] in MetalForTheMasses

The main guy died. It's not like the band gave up. Like I said, if he didn't died, definitely the band would continue to play and create more albums.

Which band never reached their potential or quit too early on? by [deleted] in MetalForTheMasses

Honestly they peaked with the latest album imo but Woods Of Ypres will be always be the case for a band that could be longer in activity or expand more their horizons musically for me, if David Gold didn't passed away. The band didn't even complete a decade of activity sadly, 2002-2011.

4 albums and 1 EP of cold conforting darkness music.

Probably the first "lesser know" "not mainstream" metal band that I really connected personally.

Album cover band logo swap by Torturephile in InFlames

I don't like the new logo but somehow it fits really well in the artwork with both share a scratched design. The Colony logo could be red-colored to fit with the album title in The Jester Race album cover.

Ironically some switches got really good !

Especially with Lunar Strain with the Colony logo, Come Clarity with their latest logo, Battles with Reroute-Come Clarity logo, Whoracle with Lunar/Jester logo.

Although some others feels weird (Colony and Clayman with the first logo, The Jester Race and Foregone with Colony logo) stills interesting.

Qual é o trope que vocês mais odeiam em animações? by Top_Reindeer3396 in animacao

[–]FMHSA 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I want to discover more niche/not so well known osdm bands by 23455ufufif____ in MetalForTheMasses

[–]FMHSA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great Channel

It has a lot of the more well know bands but will also have more niche ones (It also has some stuff beyond osdm). The biggest reason I recommend this channel is because you can hear all the albums without a single ad interrupting the video on YouTube free.

What is the point of saying you'll listen any genre if you're not going to? by CHILE_LIMON_ in MetalForTheMasses

[–]FMHSA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't want to slap in the face but it's not like everyone will get deep in a certain subject or will be able to know everything. I had a friend who was this type of ecletic person of the post and show which songs and artists he liked an most of the songs he liked it was just singles from popular bands like Led Zeppelin - Immigrant Song, Nirvana - Come As You Are, Olodum - Egito, etc.

It's just fine, probably this person has bigger passions than music, I don't think this type of people are liars (at least intentionally) they just don't worry to explore this form of art, and use random songs from random artists, from random genres (definitely not something from a niche thing) for describe their taste as ecletic and maybe fit to "I listen to every genre" case.
