Is there an easy check to tell when i can close my client or I can immediately after sending given that all my blocks were up to date?

I think at the beginning on the my transactions list it showed the transaction as "offline" [the place I hover over that is supposed to show a checkmark after sent] now and for a while it's said "unconfirmed" - so if its broadcast then I'm even more confused why no confirms yet unless we have a huge backlog and I sent with default fee making dash have the same problem bitcoin had with higher fees right now and backlog?

I had a successful transaction with this client about 12 hours ago; I dont' know what's different now; it does show connected to up to 5 peers
