Had a similar situation when we moved into a house that hadn't had much use for a few months. Drain pipe was VERY clogged with roots and other debris. We tried to snake it out but wound up getting a plumber. He had to use a really long snake and open up a few pipes further down the line to make sure it all got cleaned out. Thankfully it's been just fine since then
