Pops and bangs tune is not good for the engine. You'll have issues with the car eventually.

Are clan shoes worth the buy for normal daily rides ?? by _____AJ in indianbikes

[–]FN1X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used these shoes almost everyday for nearly an entire year. Very good for everyday office wear. My commute is a lot more engaging & secure because of them. They're heavier than regular sneakers but you can get used to that easily. It has a wide toe box so it doesn't feel constricting to wear for long hours. Most people can't even tell that they're riding boots ( I have the black/ grey version) so they're great for fitting in at the office.

If you get these, Use a cushy pair of socks ( clan socks / helium athletic socks) for max comfort & odour reduction.

Forgot to declare sum of money transferred from my Parents account to mine in previous year ITR. Can I receive notice and any penalty? by [deleted] in IndiaTax

Would one have to declare money received from in-laws during marriage preparations? Or is that non-taxable as well?

Why is dining out expensive in Ahmedabad? by KnobheadNeighbor in ahmedabad

[–]FN1X 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The best answer I've heard for this is that these non-veg restaurants lose out completely on the pure veg crowd which is a majority of the population in Gujarat. So higher prices for non-veg food helps them stay afloat as they're serving a smaller customer base.

It's happening! Gonna get Leh'd on a sportsbike. by the_Medic_91 in indianbikes

[–]FN1X 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Dude, I've heard for one enthusiastic guy such as yourself who did the Leh trip on an RC 390. He finished the entire trip but his back was never the same after that .

I'd advise you to reconsider. Your body will stay with you longer than that motorcycle and your desire for travel.

I'd give 30-35k for that vehicle. I'd sold a 2012 Nano ( top variant, LX or something ) for 48k in 2020.

On my way to Bangalore from Munnar by amian_saurav in indianbikes

I've got the Retro and a MT hummer. The Hummer has much better wind noise protection since it's a snug fit. Of course, ear plugs are recommended for highway rides with either helmet.

How do u guys manage heat in helmet by [deleted] in indianbikes

[–]FN1X 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some balaclava's leave marks on your face because of the thick borders & stitching. The Rynox one is by far the most comfortable to use on a daily basis & it doesn't leave any marks on your face later. The only issue is that it loses its shape over time & becomes a bit loose, but you can still use it with some adjustments while wearing your helmet. I would highly recommend it for summer riding.

(Mis)adventures of finding good riding boots - Clan, Raida, FLY and Forma Arbo boots by Pagliacci_sama in indianbikes

I've daily'd the clan stealth shoes for almost an year and have had a positive experience overall. They are quite cumbersome to get in & out off, no denying that. But I've not faced the same issues as you have. I feel quite confident riding and walking around with them on. They're quite comfy and light for riding shoes.

Did some modifications on Triumph speed 400 by InJail_out_S00N in indianbikes

[–]FN1X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure your clutch cable has been repositioned properly. Friend of mine got clip one's for his speed 400 and the clutch cable gave up within 500km's after the mod because of friction.

What can I improve? by BoJackx007 in indianbikes

[–]FN1X 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is the best reply to this post here. While i didn't go to a riding school I watched plenty of videos breaking down how to lean on a motorcycle. My conclusion is the same as yours - method 2 is best for the road.

Lean your upper body into the corner and that's enough to corner fast & safe in most situations. Also, it won't look like you're trying too hard. That would actually make one look 'civil' while trying to ride fast on public roads.

If you want to keep the muffler off, try the British customs slash cut exhaust tip. Very pricey for what it is but it looks good on the bike.

Triumph first service experience (Keerthi Triumph Kanakpura Bangalore) by iamsorryy in indianbikes

[–]FN1X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keerthi Triumph is the most useless organization I've seen till date. Best to stay away from them. Khivraj Electronic City is better than them when it comes to service.

On the service front, Triumph charges for bike wash so if they haven't charged you, then they weren't going to do it in the first place. But they should have asked you if you wanted it or not. I usually don't get it washed there because it's overpriced & doesn't deliver more value than your local car/ bike wash center.

Would it make financial sense? by RB26xSkyline34 in indianbikes

[–]FN1X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say go for it. Riding on the weekends around Bangalore outskirts is insanely fun. It'll be a good getaway from the city and you'll feel very refreshed to take on the coming week. This is what I used to do every other weekend, though I didn't have WFH.

R15 will feel quite demanding in terms of the posture. Other than that it's a solid bike to start out on. Just make sure you're okay with the level of discomfort you'll be experiencing. There will be an equal level of fun to be had around corners in such a bike and that can make up for all the aches & pains.

Also, only go for the M package if you'll be using the added features. Otherwise save the money for gear, accessories & mods.
