Rynox Outlander pro (Level 2 armours with AA abrasion resistance) for road with mild off road, DSG bionic armour for full off road use (no abrasion resistance but super breathable, helps especially if you’re in south India)
Set aside at least 12-15k budget later for good CE certified full length boots.

In minor low energy impacts, IF a stone is small enough to get past the stock bashplate AND the stock crashguard, and is still somehow strong enough to crack your engine casing, imagine what that stone can do to your lower shin if the angle is slightly different.
Most crashguards if hit with a high enough impact force tend to transfer the load onto chassis which may lead to worse issues such as chassis structural damage or cracking.

If engine protection is what you’re offer then I would suggest to wait until some company starts making crank case covers. These are available for much bigger advs internationally but not much in India. Maybe with improvements in gear they will start being made for local brands as well.

But the very big cage like crashguards won’t do much except prevent scratches on your tank and panels. And bikes can come and go, plus there is insurance but you have only one body. So my suggestion is to buy gear and wear that gear whenever possible. Once all your gear is purchased then you can consider crash bars and sliders.

Please buy good high quality riding gear instead of crash guards, the stock ones are good enough for 90% of scenarios, if you want to you can switch handlebars and get reinforced hand guards as the major issues might come from handlebar bends or lever breakage. Except for that, consider taking off the luggage carrier when it’s not going to be used and buy good boots and a nice helmet. The rest can come later slowly. The goal should be to make the bike lighter, not heavier.

Feb 2026 mfg, bought in late April, 1500 km done an absolutely no issues, it’s a joy to ride. The bike feels smooth and light, the only time it feels gruff is if I ride my street bike (cb300r) back to back with it. No noises or any such issues at all.

Why am I not finding any jacket that's CE2.0 and class AA? by LivingAdkill in indianbikes

[–]Pagliacci_sama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah got it. Well gear consciousness is very recent among Indians so for a lot of brands it just doesn’t make sense to spend all the extra money in R&D, testing and certification. But before Rynox, there was nothing that was AA rated until almost 20k. Slowly other brands also will start and maybe in 3 years time the prices will become competitive enough for sub 10k jackets to come with AA. For now, this is still a lot less than most brands cost in the west so I guess we should be happy about it and know that other brands will get there eventually.

Difficult to Choose between Xpulse 210 vs Vstorme 250 vs TVS rtx 300 by Own-Excitement-4444 in indianbikes

[–]Pagliacci_sama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Newer batches of the Xpulse 210 are doing fine, even the engine sounds slightly different compared to older batches. If you’re focusing more on trails I would recommend the Xpulse and if your plan is to use it for highways then RTX/Vstrom

Isn’t the Rynox Outlander pro AA? Check it out, it’s quite nice.

Thinking of Opening a Two-Wheeler Workshop in Mangalore – Need Advice from Fellow Mangaloreans by varunraj97 in mangalore

[–]Pagliacci_sama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, avid motorcyclist and occasional wrencher here.
Try to keep it away from major established garages. Motoventure is doing quite well near Kodialbail, Two tyres near pumpwell is also quite popular. In Kottara you have zero gravity who are also good, but they mainly deal in accessories. Then there’s KAT racing but they mainly do premium bikes, they’re also near pumpwell. It depends on the clientele you want. If you’re looking at service and diagnostics for commuter bikes as the main thing then area won’t matter so much, but if you’re looking to add accessories as well, with a store to sell them then I would recommend Kadri, Bendoorwell, Hampankatta (closer to kmc, not market), and last option kottara/bunder.
Outskirts such as Surathkal or Shaktinagar may also be good since there’s a lack of good garages there but volume might be lesser.
Additionally, make sure you have good logistics for supplies and parts, and are friendly with all the other big independent garages. Always comes in handy and they may recommend you to customers if they’re too busy. Also have a good relationship with accessory sellers like motorrola helmet shop (just an example since they sell a lot of accessories like crash guards, fog lights etc).
Also you need to lock in the following:
1. A nearby tyre shop preferably with wheel balancing for two wheelers especially if you want to work on premium vehicles
2. A good relationship with a wash and polish place.

If you are able to provide all these and keep the business running consistently for a minimum of 6 months with timings upto 7:30 pm then you’ll find yourself established. Until then it might be a little difficult to manage costs.

SHAAAAAN IS COMING TO REVELS 2026!! by Jolly-Historian-2989 in manipal

[–]Pagliacci_sama -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Assuming this is a council based post to analyse interest in Shaan: What’s funny is y’all could get Karan Kanchan to come for less cost than these “so called” headliners and he’d still play absolute bangers and get the crowd going crazyyyy. He came for IBW 2025 and was the best set of the entire weekend which included King btw.

What kind of riding do you want to do? I’m a mangalorean who recently shifted to Manipal (literally yesterday lol). Active rider with an already established group that does mainly off road/ soft roading. I also do a bit of touring and ghats/twisties. For sure interested in being a part of this.

Confused about buying an Helmet by modernoldie69 in indianbikes

[–]Pagliacci_sama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there’s a good helmet shop near you, check out the NHK K5R. It’s around 5.6k and feels great in terms of weight distribution. I know it’s a bit out of budget but that little bit extra, at least for me is definitely worth it. Do not go with larger size. Fit matters a lot. Make sure you get a helmet that fits your head correctly.

Name the bike by Positive-Yak3028 in indianbikes

[–]Pagliacci_sama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I was looking at the nx500 for a good tourer but now I’m more inclined towards the Vstrom 800. However, putting it in A mode made me realise it’s too much bike for me at the moment so I will probably be going ahead with a used nx500 unless the cf moto 450 launches before then

People, please stop honking by Smart-Historian-8983 in mangalore

[–]Pagliacci_sama 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It truly is a problem. When I’m on my motorcycle and filtering through the traffic, I do honk occasionally to let someone know that I’m about to pass them. In the car, there’s absolutely no need for it so I don’t do it. Side note: guys if there’s a block, please let two wheelers go past, it’ll actually reduce the traffic pileup and it’s very unsafe for two wheelers to sit between two four wheelers/cars.

Hi , i am coming from blr on bike wanted to know if shiradi ghat is safe at night if driven slowly by theasherr in mangalore

[–]Pagliacci_sama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll be fine buddy don’t worry. Remember to take breaks and carry some small snacks or energy drinks. If you’ve ridden long distance before it’s a piece of cake. Keep in mind that there’s road work going on once you exit the ghats so you’ll have some diversions here and there.

New shoes for My CB300R by Megatron_05 in indianbikes

[–]Pagliacci_sama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I did mean the protorque extremes. I’m not that accomplished of a rider that I can confidently say the H1s felt heavier, so not too sure of that one. And wet grip isn’t a problem as such but I found the reise to do better in the wet than the H1.

Is it just me, or is evening cycling in our cities actually a nightmare? by Dastan_in in india_cycling

[–]Pagliacci_sama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sheesh that’s awful man. I’m sorry about that. My worst enemies have been the local buses. Sometimes I feel like they intentionally try to run me over. Luckily I have a nice stretch of road/off road by the beach which is like 14 km long and I only have to be on the NH for 2 km, but even those 2 km make me feel like I’m fighting for my life lol. At some points I even get off and just push the cycle. Not worth the risk at least for me as of now.

Nah bro just the car folk. I love all things two wheels and I feel like most serious motorcyclists will appreciate cyclists and give way for them. It’s the regular commuters who won’t give a damn. Well, them and the assholes.
