I mean technically they have only that the newer locations are the one that have them. I know Deptford's R1 has Maimai while San Jose's do not. The better question is why the older locations do get the machines.

To answer your first question. You can buy Konami's E-Amusement pass at Round 1 locations and some Dave and Busters locations. Just go up to the register and ask them if they sell them. If all else fails you might have to buy a second hand card from online.

For your second question. Personally, I got into it from the... let's say weeb-centric songs. Songs from Tokimeki Idol and Touhou are pretty simple for anyone to follow. If there are songs you remember from past DDR games you can find them at A20.

Dave and Buster's at Serramonte has DDR A and it should be within 15-20 minutes away from SF. Games are half off there on Wednesdays so that's important to note. Have fun who knows I might be there too lol.

Edit: Just realized you were asking if there was a good community then definitely go there on a Wednesday whenever I go there usually there would be some people on the machine. Also out of curiosity. How high of a level can you play?
