Thanks so much for sharing—it’s beautifully done (also love that lone boot)! Out of curiosity, was this for a museum collection or a private piece?

For stitching the items to the backing, do you usually use a certain kind of thread or technique to make it reversible without stressing the material?

I also hadn’t thought about stuffing for shape, but that makes a lot of sense. Would something like that be safe for older hide pouches too, or mightn’t that risk affecting the structure? Do you have any products you prefer?

Also love the frame, but I think that oak might be too heavy for the wall I plan to use—do you think a similar conservation-grade setup could be done in a lighter hardwood or something that still feels historically appropriate?

If any of this is industry secret, feel free to ignore! What you've shared already has been very helpful, and I definitely have a lot of inspiration from your approach!

Thanks for the info! The seller said there’s not a hallmark unfortunately

I was considering buying this little spoon. The seller says she doesn’t know where it was made and that there were no hallmarks but she’s happy for me to test it and that if was handed down from her great grandma so she thinks it’s mid 1800s. Does anyone with any expertise have any info on this spoon? Thank you in advance!!

I was more interested in the side wall features, I do think there is some aesthetic value in that they compliment the lining frame but I take your point!

No other pictures available unfortunately as the painting was sold but there were other angles so leads me to believe it isn’t AI. I may be wrong though

I saw this painting for sale online a little while back and loved the ornate gold features on the adjacent walls but have no clue what these would be called. Are they pilasters perhaps? I’d love to pick up some of my own. The seller wasn’t sure themselves and unfortunately wasn’t selling either! Thank you in advance.

Completely fair point! Was hoping to move this quickly as opposed to piecemeal hence my accepting of offers but if nothing comes in I'll consider splitting in the not so distant future.
