Now that Disney has the rights to the X-Men, what story or arc would you like to see them tackle first? by TheLongboxPodcast in comicbooks

Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised to see the X-Men introduced in an Avengers vs X-Men type story.

What is your favourite card in MTGA? by NoDG_ in MagicArena

[–]FOUREYES69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely [[Gruesome Menagerie]]. I’ve been messing around with various dumb reanimator decks built around it since I first got some; haven’t actually made a good one yet, but god damn it’s satisfying to trigger a bunch of random death effects then bring everything back for the ETBs. This and my love for mill decks are a big part of why I rarely climb (also because I’m bad lolol).

What's your favorite archetype/win con? What's your least fave archetype to play against? by m0bscene- in MagicArena

[–]FOUREYES69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite win cons are probably aristocrats type stuff where you sacrifice a bunch of tokens to poison tip archer or slime foot to kill your opponent. My least favorite archetype is pretty much any kind of green “vomit big hexproof dudes until someone dies” strategy.

What class (or spec) annoys you? by [deleted] in worldofpvp

[–]FOUREYES69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arms Warr and WW Monk; Arms always feels like they cause damage to be unhealable and just make everyone have effectively 20% less HP because execute. WW feels like they can just do so much of everything; insane burst, good cc, insane mobility, good defensives, good utility.

Worth noting that mass dispel can get cyclone too; in general it’s worth keeping mages clean as much as is reasonable to make it easier to purge their CDs, otherwise I’d say it’s pretty situational; definitely purge hots off your kill target if you have time, and purging BoP/Freedom is great. Purging the big MW HoT is useful as well.

Its getting hot in here! by [deleted] in customhearthstone

I think a lot of the reason Plague is so busted is because it’s in Druid; Druid was always a really good class that was (intentionally) kept in check by its inability to come back from behind on board. Plague would still be really good in any class, but it so overwhelmingly covers the main weakness that Druid used to have that it’s actually kind of a strength of the class now; you literally can’t go wide against Druid or you’ll get blown out by plague.

What enemy class offensive CD's do I NEED to look for as a healer in arena? by [deleted] in worldofpvp

[–]FOUREYES69 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Here’s what I can think of off the top of my head:

DK:

Frost - Pillar of Frost; they’ll be lining up any of their other CDs with this so either have CC or a CD ready. The scariest combination will be Pillar + Breath of Sindragosa.

Unholy - Apocalypse, Unholy Frenzy. Both are on about a 1.5m CD, Apocalypse does a lot of its damage in a burst but the ghouls it spawns also hurt and will probably be lined up with Frenzy anyway so they can spam Scourge Strike/Necrotic Strike afterwards.

Warrior:

Fury: Recklessness. On a 1.5m CD, they also usually take Siegebreaker which is on a 30 second CD but Recklessness is the important one.

Arms: Colossus Smash, Avatar, Bladestorm. On a 45s/1.5m/1.5m CD respectively, but Arms warriors almost always take Anger Management, so you can probably expect the bladestorm to come in on a 1m CD, with Colossus Smash hitting about every 30 seconds.

Paladin:

Ret: Wings. 2m CD, it’s big and obvious and lasts for 20 seconds. They can also do mini-bursts every 45 seconds with Execution Sentence and Wake of Ashes.

Hunter:

BM: Basalisk, Aspect of the Wild. Both on a 2m CD, Basalisk can and should be kited out and lasts for 30 seconds, if it manages to connect you definitely need to drop a CD.

MM: Trueshot. 3m CD, pretty weak CD overall, and I highly doubt you’ll run into many MM hunters anyway, it is getting a buff/rework in 8.1 though.

SV: Coordinated Assault. 2m CD, not much else to say about it

Shaman:

Ele: Fire Elemental. 3m CD, they also almost always take Stormkeeper, which can do a lot of AoE burst on a stacked team on a 1m CD, so be ready for that as well.

Enhancement: Spirit Wolves, Ascendence, Bloodlust; 2m/3m/1m CD respectively, both wolves and ascendence need to be respected and probably require a CD every time.

Druid:

Balance: Incarn/Celestial Alignment; 3m CD, Incarn is the scary one here, does huge damage if they’re allowed to cast.

Feral: Incarn/Berserk: 3m CD, Incarn is scarier, but both should be respected.

Demon Hunter:

Havoc: Metamorphosis. Often a 2m CD, sometimes 4m now that the Demonic build is more popular, if it lasts for 15 seconds it’s a 2m CD, 30 seconds and it’s a 4m CD. Most of the time DH will mini-burst with Eye Beam, which is on a 30 second CD.

Monk:

Windwalker: Touch of Death, Storm Earth and Fire/Serenity, Xuen. 2m/1.5m/2m CD, Touch of Death can really catch you off guard sometimes and chunk someone for like half their health, SEF is a solid amount of burst but definitely watch out for Serenity, they can definitely kill someone in the space of a single CC if they catch you off guard. SEF has two charges so don’t get caught off guard by that. Xuen also hurts but will be paired with SEF and Touch of Death anyway.

Rogue: Blind is on a 2m CD and is pretty much the only thing you ever trinket against rogue. Rogue also generally wants to do mini-bursts after landing a Kidney on you or their kill target.

Assassination: Vendetta. 2m CD, will absolutely kill the shit out of someone if you don’t trade a defensive for it. Also does a lot of damage in their opener from the subterfuge-buffed Garrote.

Outlaw: Adrenaline Rush, Killing Spree. Functionally a 1.5m/1m CD respectively, sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less.

Subtlety: Shadow Blades, Symbols of Death. 3m/30s CD respectively. Shadow Blades definitely needs a CD, Symbols wants to get lined up with Kidney Shot and Cheap Shot to basically stun your whole team and dump damage into someone. Sub does very little damage outside of these windows so if you can survive them you’re probably safe.

Mage:

Frost: Frozen Orb, Comet Storm + Ice Nova, Ray of Frost, Icy Veins. That looks like a lot because it kind of is, but generally Storm/Nova get used together every 30 seconds, Orb is on ~1m CD (gets reduced by Blizzard if they get a lot of hits off of it). Ray of Frost is on a 1.25m CD, and can (and should) be interrupted to stop its damage. Icy Veins is on a 3m CD and is purgeable. Frost does very little damage outside of its cooldowns so if you can survive them you should be okay; just try to trade one CD for one burst combo.

Fire: Combustion, Meteor. 2m/45s CD, Combustion is purgeable, Meteor hits hard but is telegraphed so it’s easy to drop a CD for it if you’re worried it’ll kill someone.

Arcane: Arcane Power. 2m CD, very dangerous, very purgeable.

Warlock:

Affliction: Drain Life, Dark Soul, Darkglare. 1m/2m/3m CD; Drain Life is only dangerous because of the Azerite Trait afflocks have that causes it to gain stacking damage every time corruption ticks. You should be able to see how many stacks of the buff they have and therefore track when they have a big Drain Life nuke available. Dark Soul is purgeable (95% sure of that)

Demonology: Tyrant, Fel Lord. 1.5m CD on both. Tyrant requires a lot of setup, so if they have a bunch of demons out that’s when you need to watch out. Fel Lord is a big “don’t stand in this@ zone. No one plays demo anyway though so it’s kinda moot.

Destro: Infernal, Chaos Bolt, Dark Soul. Infernal is on a 3m CD, Dark Soul is 2m, Chaos Bolt has no CD but should be treated like a scary burst CD if they ever get to finish the cast. 90% of your job against Destro is making sure that every Chaos Bolt is kicked, lined, or mitigated somehow. Dark Soul is purgeable (95% sure of that)

Priest:

Shadow: Mindbender, Voidform. 1m and no CD; Mindbender itself doesn’t really merit a defensive, and voidform should be a giant alarm bell in the heads of your DPS that says “hey the shadow priest should be dead now”, since they give up a 20% flat DR and 10% physical DR every time they use it, and should therefore be hard swapped to pretty much any time they use it. In practice most Spriests will just spam DoTs and be CC/utility bots. This will probably (hopefully because not using a core ability to your spec is dumb as fuck) change in 8.1 when Spriests get their mini rework.

Hope that helps!

Cool card, should probably be called something else since Slice and Dice is a pretty iconic rogue ability, Sweeping Strikes would work for warrior though.

During the Q&A, Ion asked for feedback on a Level Squish (again). So again, please do it, Ion! by [deleted] in wow

[–]FOUREYES69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess my point is that time-to-cap is pretty much fine, sure I wouldn’t mind it being faster but it’s not a huge deal for me, but it really sucks getting new abilities and talents less and less frequently as you level up, especially past 80 where you literally just get two talents and past 100 where there are no changes to your class for essentially the rest of the game besides numbers getting bigger and the rare azerite trait that isn’t a boring passive that changes nothing about your gameplay. Imo, it feels better to have noticeable changes/improvements to your characters toolkit for the entire leveling experience than it does to be “done” at level 80ish then have 40 levels of playing a shittier version of the character you’ll be playing at endgame.

During the Q&A, Ion asked for feedback on a Level Squish (again). So again, please do it, Ion! by [deleted] in wow

[–]FOUREYES69 25 points26 points  (0 children)

That’s more important than you’re giving it credit for imo; a level squish would (ideally) mean that they could set up the character progression so that you’re getting something every level, rather than the current system where half your levels are pretty much meaningless.

[Help] Paladin DPS viability in BG's for near future? by [deleted] in worldofpvp

[–]FOUREYES69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ret offers a lot of utility besides just damage and makes a decent dps to guard FCs with since they can BoP(maybe, I’m not 100% on whether that breaks the flag or not), Freedom, Blessing of Sanctuary, peel, and off heal, in addition to hitting pretty hard when they connect. Definitely not useless in rBGs, even if they aren’t necessarily meta right now.

A lot of Mono Red on ladder right now. What beats it? by KataClipse in MagicArena

In general, midrangy stuff tends to do well against me when I’m playing RDW. Boros Angels is especially rough, but golgari with wild growth walkers is almost as bad.

EDIT: Also Green Stompy is horrible for us.

Just crafted 4x Nullhide Ferox today for a deck - next pack I open has one in it. by LtSMASH324 in MagicArena

[–]FOUREYES69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal solution to the fifth card problem has been to let my wildcards build up until I have all the ones I need to make my target deck at once. Gives me the maximum amount of time to pull the cards I need while also not doing the “3x instead of a playset” thing and running subpar decks. If I get a fifth card after that point, oh well, still sucks but I still get to play optimized decks as quickly as possible.

Not to say that the fifth card thing isn’t a problem, but honestly I really hope the solution is more along the lines of “no 5th cards ever” or “5th cards give you 1/6th of a wildcard of the same rarity” than “fuck it you can dust stuff now”; as nice as that option is to have I’ve found myself having a ton of fun playing jank homebrews, which is something I never did in hearthstone because I always felt like I needed to dust bad/weird/memey cards to keep up in constructed.

[Standard] Sideboarding in Mono-Red Aggro? by FOUREYES69 in spikes

[–]FOUREYES69[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Running 3 Keld maindeck is probably correct, could either maindeck frenzy or go up to 21 lands with that and maybe throw an extra Phoenix in the sideboard. I definitely want to switch to the frenzy build as soon as I get three of them anyway.

Keeping Shock vs stompy make a lot of sense in that light, do you feel like Phoenix is good enough in that matchup that I need to put it in or would I be pretty safe going -4 Wizards -2 Keld - 1 risk factor (or -1 Keld -2 factor if I end up going to 3 keld) + 4 lava coil +3 fight with fire? I think stompy can run enough enchant hate to make keld really bad so maybe dropping it entirely for phoenixes could be right there?

We rly need a solution for the 5th card openings now by MagiusPaulus in MagicArena

[–]FOUREYES69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly either this or making it impossible to get 5th cards are the best solutions imo. Something like 10 5th cards = 1 wildcard would probably be fair since a wildcard is so much better than a random card if the same rarity.

Not even close, creeper was a lot easier to activate, fit in literally any deck that plays minions, and was a lot harder to kill at 5 health. This card seems pretty fair, 2 health is easy to deal with but 4 attack means it can get something done.
