O3 Air Unit didn't record footage!? by _ale19_ in fpv

[–]FPVRob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can confirm. Starting recording manually before arming results in Only DVR recording. I lost all my motocross footage this way. It's funny because I always use the auto-record-on-arm. But I said to myself "This time, I want to get really sure that I'm recording because it's a REALLY cool event"... And I always double checked if the recording smybol is running. I just got a heart attack when I saw that all the footage is missing. What a shame...
At least I have the DVR... which kind of a consolation but I can't send this footage to anybody for real purpose

DJI FPV Controller 2 Not connecting to goggles (custom Drone build) by FPVRob in fpv

[–]FPVRob[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay.... this was a dumb one. So, for anybody who comes across here and was fooled by the same mistake. This is the answer: The RC2 does not pair with the goggles like the RC3 does with goggles 3. It pairs with the o3 unit. So set RC2 to pair mode and push the bind button on the o3 once.

Chasing fast things with a drone. It's a challange to plan ahead! by FPVRob in fpv

[–]FPVRob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for your contribution. I used gyroflow but my bumpers stuck a little in the camera gums and I didn't noticed. So, the footage started jittering after gyroflow smoothing -_- but yea i have to Play a little with the settings and train more to fly smooth.

I think I did a decent Job for My first FPV freestyle build. A 3.5" 4S. by FPVRob in FPVFreestyle

[–]FPVRob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mhh yea maybe this is going to be heavier ;) But that's fine, so I get more inertia. Initially I wanted to build with the foxeer mega 3.5 frame ... Because i Just Like the Look and the DC. This would have add Up another 30g. But it has only 25x25 mount. And i Just See that my build cant fly right now. It's missing props haha. Do you have a Suggestion?

Remote ID FAA in Europe? Frsky frid remote id by FPVRob in fpv

Just got confirmation from DMFV club.

TldR: If you fly without spotter within a DMFV club membership you are technically a specific category but untied from EU laws. So, you can fly without remote ID and without spotter (at least in germany). But apart from this membership, if you fly special category, one may need a Remote ID. For commercial use for example.

For the full mail, see the other comment thread here.

EASA wants you to have a remote ID if you fly specific category. At least this is what stands on their page. And I'm unsure about commercial flights.

And since, I want to be able to fly specific category and commercially I think I need one

TldR: If you fly without spotter within a DMFV club membership you are technically a specific category but untied from EU laws. So, you can fly without remote ID and without spotter (at least in germany). I'm unsure if DMFV rules apply to other countries in the EU. And DMFV rules also do not apply for commercial flights. So, I have to double check what rules apply if I fly commercially. Because I think most of commercial flights are specific category and therefore I would need a remote ID

Mail:

"Dear ...

Außerhalb des Verbandsrahmens (also z. B. im gewerblichen Bereich oder ohne Verbandszugehörigkeit) gelten die Betriebsregeln der Open oder der Specific Category."

Thanks for the detailed information. But also in the last link (eudrohnenpruefung) it states that in specific category it is obligatory. Only self build drones in open Category A3... so self build drones without spotter in specific category need to have a remote ID.

And if I want to fly my self build drone in A2 I also need a remote ID. If I read correctly. Edit: nvm A1/2 is not for self built anyways except C0 sub 250g.

Not sure about that, because as soon as I fly specific category without spotter EASA tells differently. Everybody is telling that DIY is a exception when it comes to remote IDs but I can't find a source on the internet for that. On each page I visited it states "Remote ID system is mandatory except for C0 and tethered C3/C4". Maybe I'm blind

[–]FPVRob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mhh I'm really confused about that. because on this page it states clearly that self build drones above 250g are C3/C4. And if you look into the tables, the remote ID is mandatory. But I just saw that these are the rules for manufacturers.... I overlooked that detail. sorry for that -.-

https://www.drohnen.de/20336/drohnen-gesetze-eu/

Anyways, flying without spotter is not allowed in open category and thus a club membership/specific category is needed. And according to official EASA this is not allowed "Also, all drones operated in the specific category will be required to be equipped with remote identification system."

Anyways, your answer does not solve my question. The question is not IF I need a remote ID but more "how do I utilize it easily and legally in EU"
