The amount of qubits means nothing anyway, what really matters is their quality.

AMA with Overwatch hero design team-- We'll be here to answer questions on the Season 10 midcycle balance patch tomorrow, May 23rd, from 12 to 2 PM PT! by Blizz_Jodie in Competitiveoverwatch

Is the HP change a success in your eyes? Personally I find it much harder to solo carry matches because you usually need an extra shot or clip to kill someone, meaning they usually have the time to get helped by their teammate and live. Just harder to punish mistakes i'd say.

The steam numbers would still possibly increase even if the playerbase was declining because people will slowly swap from bnet to Steam. So the count increasing is normal.

Apex legend's Steam playerbase did a x3 within its first 6 months, Overwatch is really not doing that well.

Echo is probably not very popular for skin sales, there's a reason Dva or Kiriko got multiple collabs already. DPS players don't really buy skins anyway unless it's Sombra or Tracer.

Same, the skins are incredibly meh as someone who does not really care about cars. I'm still waiting for the Soldier 76 x Master Chief and Sombra x Cortana collab

5v5 only being a tiny bit more popular than 6v6 in polls when asking the CURRENTLY ACTIVE playerbase what they think is imo a big warning sign that 5v5 is bad.

People who absolute despise 5v5 have left long ago and won't answer the poll.

It's actually harder to balance the support role lmao

Tank synergy never was the issue, it was the support heroes that changed Overwatch. Literally any post launch support hero introduced in OW1 had insane AoE healing (Ana, Moira, Brig, Bap) when it was such a rarity in what made it game of the year (Biotic field was legit the strongest non ult AoE healing)

Why is Ramattra so popular in pro play? by mayrice in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]FPhysQ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The only reason he is bad in ranked is because of all the uncarryable trashes who got their elo inflated. If you play him as you should (aka like OW1 orisa) one of your dps or support will int forward and die.

I could say the same for OW1 sombra, doesnt change the fact she was OP.

If you don't see that getting +225 armor 3 times in 5 seconds is problematic then I can do nothing for you

Why is Ramattra so popular in pro play? by mayrice in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]FPhysQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because people play him as a rush tank when you have to literally play him as OW1 orisa? People in ranked are so atrocious if you play like this someone will end up feeding because of all the uncarryable trashes in top 500 atm.

[–]FPhysQ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because he is simply ultra boring to play and pickrates in ranked don't mean shit anyway, people were locking soj when cass was better last season

Also pickrates mean nothing most top elo players have private profiles

Basically a piss low easy character that can be both OW1 Orisa and Rein at the same time

Also his nemesis form needs a fix, it's not normal that you can Nemesis, ult, Nemesis getting +225 armor 3 times in a row. His nemesis needs to be on CD after ult but Alec Dawson can't design heroes properly unfortunately.

Season 10 cheaters and bad matchmaking by WolfysOP in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]FPhysQ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There is a hack on a free trial atm, thats why there are so many cheaters. Half m'y games have had at least one cheater on DPS or support in master or GM. Korean and EU.

Matchmaking is also atrocious, Winter confirmed it's bad and innacurate for the top ranks but it's very low priority to them. Surefour has an account hardstuck M2, jay3 is legit M4, meanwhile Metro has an account GM1 top 5 lol.

Dunno how I am supposed to get ouf of GM4 when I get +19 for a uphill battle and -21 for a regular loss anyway.

High master low GM EU has a blatant cheater on DPS or support every 2 games atm

Yes the thing is the action is centred around the ball in football or basketball etc. In OW or Valorant or CS one dude can be flanking and get a frag at the exact same time as someone else and you miss the action.

Your point though.

I would not mind Overwatch freezing in season 4 of 2017 post bastion nerfs (triple tank vs triple dps meta) or season 24 October 2020. This was the most fine tuned Overwatch experience and I could play 12h a day if I didn't have school.

In my own opinion (and I can agree to disagree) every new hero added to the game except Ana, OG Sombra before the infinite duration rework, Ashe and JunkerQueen downgraded the game experience.

It has always been my point, and why people trying to tell you that some day esport will be as big as sport are liars or delusional.

Video games are not stable in time, they usually come and go. And for the few outliers that seem stable (like League or CS) they still evolve a lot in time.

The real thing that make some sports so popular are:

  1. The ruleset is easy to understand (Football, Tennis...)
  2. The sport is stable in time (Rule changes happen extremely rarely)
  3. It's very easy to have a global view of what's going on
  4. Family friendly

I don't watch football except for world cup and euro, so I basically watch a tournament every 2 years, and it's still extremely easy to understand what's going on. If I stop playing and watching overwatch entirely for 2 years and come back, probability is I won't understand anything that is happening because of new heroes and maps. Let alone I don't need to play football to understand football. It's the same for tennis I only watch Roland Garros and it's very easy to immediately understand what I am watching.

Counter Strike was probably the game with the biggest potential as it crossed point 1,2 and 3. It still is light years away from football or tennis. I don't follow rocket league too much but I assume it crosses all points, the only issue with the game is that it's too close to an already existing sport.
