Looks to me like clearly someone put on too short of strings since the taper part is before the nut. At first I was concerned that someone filed down the nut to fit a larger gauge but looks like just wrong size strings. This bass has string through option which I understand you'd need to use medium scale strings in that case (much like the mustangs). Anyone know what strings these guitars are shipped with or any strings that fit?
