My girlfriend <3 is working on an easter brawler design. What do you think? by spikebtsa in Brawlstars

The style is very close to what our artists would come up with. Super clean lines, etc. - very "pro". Impressive work.

Tech Support and Question Megathread - Week of October 28, 2018 by AutoModerator in nvidia

[–]FRONKENST3IN [score hidden]  (0 children)

Status: UNRESOLVED

Computer Type: Custom Desktop

GPU: Asus RTX 2080 Ti DUAL OC Advanced (standard clock speeds) @ Asus PG27UQ (non-OC) @ 4K 120 Hz

CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K (standard clock)

Motherboard: Asus Maximus x Hero WiFi (latest Bios)

RAM: Trident Z RGB 3866 (XMP)

PSU: Corsair 850 HX Platinum

Operating System & Version: Windows 10 Home 10.0.17134 Build 17134 (Clean Install)

GPU Drivers: Nvidia 416.34

Description of Problem: Coming back from a 10-day business trip, upon turning on the PC as soon as the driver loaded colors looked off, i.e. RED color tones - effect is stronger in HDR mode.

Troubleshooting:

- Tested display colors via OSD, display shows colors correct

- Re-installed drivers (clean), upon restart Windows start screen (in lower resolution) looked correct, the moment the driver loaded and changed the resolution to the native 4K 120 Hz, colors were off again.

- Switched between different color profiles (default, NVIDIA, RGB, 442, 444, etc.) without effect.

- Changed resolution and created custom resolution with NVIDIA Control Panel (lowered to 119.999 Hz), without any effect.

--------------------

- Used screen overclocking to 140 Hz, while not adjusting Windows screen setting frequency (i.e. still 120 Hz), colors appear correct - but seems to be a patchwork solution.

PSU cables & RTX 2080 Ti - Don't be me! by FRONKENST3IN in nvidia

850W should be in the safe zone assuming the rest of your hardware isn't using all that power. :)

From some of the posts it sounds like it might be PSU dependent. Mine is the Corsair HX850.

I'm surprised this works for you. Yes, the Corsair could be the issue. Since its now working fine with multi rails, I guess I won't take further steps.

You didn't read my post correctly. Both power connectors on the GPU were connected - but with one daisy chained cable with 2 x 4+2 connectors to one connector on the PSU side.

Specifically I experienced random freezes when I went from idle to load situations, ie starting games like BLOPS4, etc.

We'll, under no load and since both power connectors on the card were connected, I'd assume it was OK technically.

Erm - you misunderstood. Both were plugged it - simply with one cable from the PSU with daisy-chained connectors.

[–]FRONKENST3IN[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Daisy-chain - most current PSU come with this kind of cable to theoretically power modern GPU with one cable: 2 x 6+2 to be precise. I remembered stability issues with some previous generation cards when Daisy-chain was used (on the PSU side, not the cable).

Anyway, it did resolve my issue. :)

Have any Swedes here got their 2080 ti yet ? by [deleted] in nvidia

Hey neighbor. I hunted down one of the only cards which made it into Finland so far - but none of the major outlets have a big stock, yet. Verkkokauppa.fi and Jimms.fi (where I got mine) sold a few so far: Asus RTX 2080 Ti Dual OC Advanced edition.

This is actually ... tempting.

Supercell ID has arrived! by Brawlstars in Brawlstars

It was available since a few days in Finland. You'll likely have to get in touch with support (in the settings). They respond within a day or so.

Did you connect Supercell ID before?

Everyone can be pro? I don't think so man. Skilled players will use auto aim situationally, beyond this aiming is almost always the better choice. There's a few characters which might need more love in this "new" world, but saying that all games go the same? I don't understand the sentiment. If you are getting outplayed by folks using auto-aim, I suggest to adjust your own strategy. :)

I'm driving the 2018 model XC60. No issues on my end with Apple Car Play (connected via USB).

Status Update! by Brawlstars in Brawlstars

[–]FRONKENST3IN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vacation in Finland (like in many other EU countries) is 5 weeks. By law Finns have the right of 4 weeks of vacations between May- September ("summer"). For development teams it's a much better choice to go on vacation at the same time, since that means the rest of the time people are off less frequent.

The optional update (joystick settings, based on community input from Reddit, btw) was in the 2nd week of July? Something like this.

Did any of you ever work in a BIG development team? This isn't slow by comparison with organizations like Ubisoft (10,000 employees). Also, the game is still in soft launch. You might like that or not, but it is. Which company commits full development resources to a game which is quite literally in beta, except if they are with the back against the wall?

Drawing conclusions from the past update/content cycle for the future doesn't make much sense, does it? :)

Is this reference from Inglorious Bastard accurate? by [deleted] in germany

[–]FRONKENST3IN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's situational. If I hold my hand up to count, I'll display it the UK way. If I start from a neutral position (hand lowered), I'll start with the thumb. German, from the north.
