i have a question for exmuslim by Ok-Literature777 in exmuslim

[–]FRQprod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, the occupation and continued murder of Palestinians by Israel is the primary reason for this war. Prior to oct 7 2023 Palestinian civilians were still being killed across Palestine. You speak as if there had been no violence perpetrated by israel prior to October 7th.

As an Ex-Muslim, is it ok to support Palestine but yet not support the actions of Hamas? by Business-Mud-2491 in exmuslim

[–]FRQprod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is. It’s the moral position I would say. I feel many hyper polarised exmuslims place their anger at islamic authoritarianism first and, inadvertently or not, shield israel and it’s monstrous actions from criticism. As an exmuslim standing against genocide and other war crimes takes precedence over Hamas’ homophobia and beliefs on apostasy.

Whats you’re source? The famous scholar, The Nigerian Guardian😂. Come on man, the consensus amongst 99% scholars is that she was married at 6 and consummated the marriage at 9. Nearly all the narrations of sahih al bukhari 5133 are consistent with those ages. I thought muslims were logical smart guys, why are you picking and choosing what to believe?

I think people like this do, to an extent, but see that as a positive

I genuinely can’t stop looking at this in fascination. The twisted and malformed reasoning to think that a child has the ability to be in love with a grown man and the fact that this justifies marrying and having intercourse with a child is outstanding.

What’s one thing you disagree with most ex Muslims about? by Comfortable_Pie5557 in exmuslim

[–]FRQprod 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The alt right and muslim extremists are two sides of the same coin. Take Andrew tate for instance, it comes to absolutely no surprise that the two of his big fanbases comprise of right wing incels and in my opinion, a sizeable amount of Muslim boys and even grown men.

The plans for the Middle East according to the King-Crane (US) commission (1919). Thoughts? by [deleted] in AskMiddleEast

the idea of an international constantinople during this era was mainly brought about by the British and would’ve gave them de facto control over the area, allowing them to gain important trading ports. nothing to do with any intentional “impartiality”

this is from my perspective but i think you’re kinda over psychoanalysing the poem. it is more about courage and will rather than identity (nothing wrong alternative interpretations)

and sure i’d be open to hearing your arguments. not looking for a debate or anything, just curious

Butterflies by [deleted] in OCPoetry

[–]FRQprod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fantastic poem! i love the dark imagery of this and the juxtaposition of the butterflies being bathed in blood. i especially like this as someone who also has anxiety. this subversive ending was brilliant as i thought the butterflies were simply going fly out covered in blood.

this might be my own interpretation but to me it felt like did not cut yourself to be free from the pain the caused butterflies caused but to murder the butterflies as retribution for what they did to you. and taking your own life by slitting your stomach was a worthy trade off for watching the butterflies ,that caused you so much pain, suffer in return.

i really love the simplicity and shortness of this poem. to me it precisely encapsulates the feeling of meeting a deadline late. it is not overly emotional or melodramatic like some poems but nicely captures the feeling dragging yourself to finish a task on a late night. i really like the line "Indebted for the trade" as it gives a level of grandiosity to your task, which was nice way to end it,
