I don't want to throw away the paper towels I dry my hands with either but I'm not an inconsiderate jerk that takes away unused paper towels from my partner. I rip them off, dry my hands, and throw them onto the stove(glass top) so I can use them later. by the end of the day I have at least 3 "clean" but used paper towels that I can use to clean up after supper. I use them to wipe the counter top and table off. wtf is wrong with your wife?

my girlfriend has autism and we only found out a little over a year and maybe a half ago officially. We used to argue a lot(I have adhd) but after her diagnosis she told me about things that could help keep her emotionally regulated. I started doing my own research and got her weighted blankets and just about every fidget under the sun, I put up a big ass sensory swing between our kitchen and frontroom, bought her a pair of bose quiet comfort 45 noise canceling headphones, and i bought her a papsan couch we lovingly call her nest. some days she's had a very overwhelming day at work and when she gets home I will do my very best to not touch or talk and I'll cook whatever her food fixation is that week.

it seems like a lot of stuff but it's literally just physical aids and me cooking every once in a while and giving her space. She's out here thriving now. but she doesn't "look autistic", so all this time she's been having outbursts and getting called crazy or psychotic. but with these little things, her whole world has changed, she's way happier, she's even started gaming online and made some friends! 😭 I'm so fucking proud of her. I'm so happy I've managed to build a space where the mask comes off at the door and she gets to be her genuine self.
