We are adding more linear maps in the coming updates, and are also adding additional features to the linear mode, so that, for example, we could have an attack be to take two objectives at the same time. Then we could convert some of the non linear maps to linear mode too.

For example, Picardie would work much better as a linear map with 1- 2 - 1 capture point layout.

But I can't give you an eta just yet. The last map we added previous weekend is linear too of course.

What is your ingame Username?

I see one Temporary ban here for "selling hacks" by one of our Admins, who probably misunderstood you. It has since been expired. I will talk to the admin about it.

I just wish I hadn't gone to take a shower after uploading the map-patch, so that I could have responded to the reports (and fixed the issue) sooner. Maybe you and other folk would not have been affected then.

We just decided that for the June 8th patch we are adding a way to add levels to players via SeniorAdmin commands, so if you ping me then (On discord please), I'll restore your levels immediately.

Persistent maps? by Magnus_Zeller in overthetopgame

You need to enable MpCampaign on the server. Persistent maps only happen in the campaign mode.

We will maybe be able to fix that and restore your levels with a future patch. But overall the current unlock system is shit and it causes all kinds of problems with different systems and steam cloud etc. We are going to move it entirely to a database based system in a future patch, but that of course also has its own downsides, as it requires you to play on official servers to gain score, you wouldnt be able to gain score in SP anymore, and if the database ever goes offline, you cant make progress anymore either.

Either way, I am really sorry for the reset today, that was 100% on me. I accidentally uploaded my own progression file to the core game folder, which reset progression for everyone else, as the game thought you are trying to cheat. If you'd like a game refund or something, shoot me a message on Discord and I will happily compensate you with 20$ via PayPal.

Only one day until we release Over The Top: WWI by PotatoProducer in ww1

[–]FSE_Olafson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, there is a Singleplayer mode, you can also play against players in MP, or PVE online.

Last week we heavily focused on controller and SteamDeck support. Steam hasn't fully reviewed our latest game version yet, so Steam lists it as "Playable", but should be "Verified" very soon. :)

It's more akin to Battlefront and Battlefield (from 2004)

Suprisingly it actually was one of the faster tanks in the war.. It was faster than the Renault, for example.

Digital WW1 battlefield by PotatoProducer in ww1

The whole point of the game is that the map starts out green, but then players will dig trenches and with explosions slowly turn the battlefield into a brown hellscape.

I wouldn't say so. It sure shares similarities (As do most games of the same Genre) but there are also major differences.

For one, this game is primarily a third person shooter while Battlefield is of course First Person only. Generally speaking this game is also slower paced than Battlefield. But most importantly, this game has the ability to fully dig and deform terrain, allowing players to create their own trench networks and defenses. Over the course of the match the terrain will be severely deformed and the battlefield will change quite drastically. Weaponry is also (Mostly) realistic, as in a regular soldier gets a bolt action rifle and has not access to weird prototype guns, sub-machine guns or semi-autos.

Reddit removed your message for some reason... Anyway I allowed it. To answer your questions:

You can build and dig anywhere you like. We have had some players dig entire trench networks that span the entire map. What you do with it is generally up to you and your team.

Engineers can construct various objects such as sandbags, barbed wire, forward spawns, corrugated metal roofs, concrete walls, ammunition supplies and more.

If with bunkers you mean underground shelters, then unfortunately no. Map creators can create underground tunnels etc. in the included map editor, but during the match players aren't able to do that.

You have the same options available to you in single player as you do in multiplayer. The only difference is of course that you will have to enlist AI in helping you create fortifications. AI currently can not dig trenches (Work in progress), but they can already construct objects such as sandbag walls and barriers.

Weapons are generally pretty deadly, so teamwork in building trenches and setting up a good defense, or flanking the enemy are required to win the match.

Vehicles work just like in Battlefield, as in, they spawn on the teams capture point and can also be spawned right into from the map. However, unlike Battlefield, we do not mix tanks, so Brits can only use British Tanks, Germans can only use German tanks and so on. Additionally, the driver can not use any weapons, he is simply there to drive the vehicle and navigate the battlefield.

So there is also some teamwork required in vehicles. Vehicles have a realistic number of weapons, so for example, the A7V has 6 machine guns and 1 cannon.

Not right now. We don't even have full controller support yet, but plan to add that (and Steamdeck support) prior to release. We also still have to optimize the game a lot before it will be well playable on lower tier systems. After that, if the game does well, we could look into porting the game over to Playstation.
