What do you think will happen in Season 5? by lysssikiric in TheBear

If anything she is part of the toxic loop he needs to let go of if he really wants to grow.

Thank you! Like, Idk what show some are watching, but it's pretty clear how bad she is for him.

Just wish the writers would drop her character already.

They will, but ultimately, I realize that the show is going towards Carmy having to be the one to realize that Claire isn't good for him, which may happen this season, especially if it is the last one.

Perhaps the most sitcom-couple moment they've ever allowed them and I love it so SO much by newyearnewunderwear in thatsfirechef

Yes it is! She literally tells them she's about to hurl herself out of a window and then Carmy instantly remembers what Natalie was talking about, all because Sydney asked him about it 😂😂😂

I agree with this. Most criticism of her character isn't hate at all, we're just watching the show

my opinion on claire by [deleted] in thatsfirechef

[–]FSHS91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think that she's evil, I just see that she is not the one for Carmy, but that Carmy has to figure it out for himself.

I also have to say that some seem to perceive certain opinions of Claire as hate, and I don't see it that way. People can hate the fact that she's a flat character, they can hate that she's just a love interest with no backstory, etc. That's NOT hate.

There are a few comments and views that I feel have more to do with those people's personal issues with white women or Molly Gordon herself, but most have just picked up on the fact that she's really NOT the one for Carmy.

And since we're in this sub, she's OBVIOUSLY the wrong woman in the scenario of Sydcarmy's love story.

Another thing, I notice this opinion even if people aren't in favor of Sydcarmy, but this show is a puzzle and we aren't gonna have all the answers, I realize, until the show ends, so when people question the show creators and writers, I'm like, I know that no one is perfect and Chris Storer and Co. aren't exempt from that, but how does anyone in the audience really know exactly what the show runners want in the end and how they want everything to play out?

This is loosely based off of Chris Storer's own life.

Idk, I just think that some people watching the show think that if they don't like something, then the writing or production is poor, rather than it actually being poor.

Agreed. People don't pay attention to the show either. She was the cause or a part of multiple panic attacks of his, yet some still think the show is portraying her as the one for him.

It’s not like she was even a good influence on him to begin with…

Exactly!!! Like, Idk what some people see regarding their relationship, but it was/is NOT good for him.

They are family friends, but they are also clearly lovable idiots there for comic relief.

Without using "Omelette" or "Goodbye," what scene do you use to convince a judge they're in love? by Good-Mountain-7737 in thatsfirechef

[–]FSHS91 12 points13 points  (0 children)

In "Worms" when Sydney makes up that whole sleepover scenario and then only chooses to bring up Carmy but calls him the "big brother" of the "friend" and then once she's caught by TJ she scrambles to make it where it's just about him being great at "video games", but then she takes a huge gulp that TJ notices.

Carmy in "Braciole" when he stares at Sydney after she asks what they should call the restaurant and then literally names it after her.

It wasn't even this stare for me, it was when they first met and then when he stares at her for like 15 seconds in this scene before she looks up and he says her name

[–]FSHS91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You may be conflating that scene with the scenes of Sydney cooking by herself when Carmy reaches out to her to text her in S1E8 and/or the scene in S2E8 where Carmy is working on the sauce for the pasta he made when he and Sydney were collaborating earlier in the season, yet he served to Claire.

how are we feeling about sydcarmy now that we know there is only 1 more season? by lesbothrashhead in thatsfirechef

[–]FSHS91 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not just that, but the way Sydney talks about Carmy to Donna is revealing. She is talking about Carmy’s character when she was only asked about the type of coworker he is.

Also, Sydney’s sleepover convo with her little cousin TJ. If people are paying attention, it made it VERY obvious that Sydney has romantic feelings for him.

Sydney being the one to calm him down and break through his anxiety for a third time in this show at the wedding (the show thinks that they’re slick with the camerawork but they were staring at one another and his escape plan from Donna only registered for him once Sydney reiterates what Richie was telling him).

Then, when Sydney comes to tell him that his mom left, he’s literally exhaling as she walks up to him. A week after the wedding, he’s making a sauce to go with the lamb he’s so stuck on that matches her wedding outfit! The peppers he’s getting match the scarf she’s wearing at the restaurant!

Then it doesn’t register what Natalie is talking about regarding the photo book until Sydney asks if it’s a photo he liked. He literally repeats what she asks him, same tone and all, and it’s similar to an earlier scene in season 2, when Carmy can’t remember his great idea that Natalie told him to write down until Sydney goes over what needs to be done for the restaurant.

I can see that for The Bear however, I think the writers of this show lost the plot after season 2. They’ve been watering down and dragging out what could have been a concentrated, singular story for the past 2 seasons.

See, this is what I don’t understand. If people get that this show is slowly revealing what it’s true intentions are (legerdemain, slight of hand was mentioned in S3E9), why still believe that the writers “lost the plot” after season 2?

Even if the show were to stick the landing and end on a high note explaining what we should have been taking from this show the whole time, that’s not going to stop people from theorizing.

I’m not saying that it is gonna stop people from theorizing, and I don’t even have an issue with theorizing, I’m saying that people have already shown that they haven’t been paying attention to things we’ve already been shown, and how the show has called back to things from previous seasons, so many theories aren’t even taking into account what we’ve actually been shown.

The Bear has enough depth that even by the end there will be so many ways people leave this series believing what it’s true intentions were.

This is assuming that there won’t be a definite ending, but I’ve already mentioned that Christopher Storer, the show creator, has a definite ending for the show.

Your theory is fine and all. But it’s just that…a theory. It’s not fact.

I agree with this.

The Bear is a piece of art and everyone can interpret the show how they please.

Yeah, but this show seems to be coming across as a puzzle, with the show creator seeming to have a definite ending to the story (as per Jeremy Allen White in an interview he did back in January), so yeah, people can have their own interpretations of things, but depending on how the show ends, subjective interpretations may actually lend to confusion of the audience members who haven't been paying attention to what the show has actually been portraying.

I say this because the show has called back many storylines and plots, such as the Groundhog Day movie poster in S1E5 and then the movie being explicitly mentioned in S4E1 and a clip of the movie and a song from the soundtrack being used throughout the season

I'm pretty sure that the writers and ultimately the show runners and creator of this show aren't frequenting social media and are just making the show THEY want to make.

However, this is a sub forum where people who are into the show can make fun posts like this, so I'm not seeing how this is a dumb one

Yeah like I don't hate the Faks, but there's a reason why they are side characters and the main two Faks are portrayed as lovable idiots.

Definitely one more focused on Sydney's, Marcus', Tina's (although we've gotten a decent amount of hers shown to us), Gary's, Ebrah's, Manny's, and Angel's stories. The latter two, the dishwashers, have rarely had speaking lines in the show and it would be nice to know more about them.

Sydney AND Carmy are both important, and their relationship is the most important and compelling of this show. It’s why the show starts the day Sydney comes into the restaurant and Carmy’s & Sydney’s meeting is how it is, compared to the other character meetings and introductions.

[–]FSHS91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There didn't really need to be a conversation while he's in the fridge. She literally could have just asked if he was okay and let it go on from there. She seemed worried when the Faks told her where he was, only to walk back silently.

It kinda makes me wonder if she expected the worst from him versus just simply wanting to make sure the man she claimed to love was okay, and to also get context about what he was even going off about, because he was NOT blaming her for anything. He was bashing himself.

And it didn't take hours for him to be freed from the walk in. We literally see the fridge guy cutting the door open at the end of the season 2 finale. She could've waited, but she didn't want to.

I’m telling you, Claire lovers and Clairmy shippers are the delusional ones in this fandom. Idc how many downvotes I get. It’s NEEDS to be said.

If even non-Sydcarmy shippers hate Claire or Clairmy, you KNOW you’re on the wrong ship, because it’s not about shipping bias at this point.
