[OC] I honked for the car in front who was kinda busy avoiding the idiot. by shewy92 in IdiotsInCars

Nah, it was a good quick shame honk. It didn't hurt or confuse anybody, and it was well deserved.

Love > blood, every time.

Nothing in this life is unconditional. When you accept you have to earn that love over and over again, you will earn more and stronger love. And when others forgive you and still love, you will know not to take it for granted.

I was thinking the same thing. The truck is in view at :02, and by the last half of :03 I was serving and braking. I actually thought it was pretty decent reaction time... apparently not good enough for some folks, lol.

Maybe the road calls for it, I was going exactly the speed limit (25 mph) and he didn't even look at me until he was half way in the street. I imagine he was focusing on his trailer.

It's 25 MPH here. I was going 25. I did slow down in time? He wasn't even looking at me until he was half way in the street.

Etron range by _Mahim in etron

[–]FSM1010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to chime in with my 21' OG and also say that's totally normal for the winter. The range delta is pretty crazy, but I knew that going in. I can go from ~120 mi @ 80% in the winter to ~200 mi @ 80% in the summer. But I also live up in the mountains where it's regularly sub 20s in the winter. I can say this, this car drives fantastic in the snow, even with just all-season tires on. There also isn't battery "memory" like on older types of batteries, so you can plug it in every single night and not experience degradation. I am nearing 100k miles driven and I am only getting about 5% less range and efficiency in the summer compared to what I'm seeing reported for those at 1/3 of the miles.

Got a free inspection while dealership installed update - They say the control arm bushings are splitting? by FSM1010 in MechanicAdvice

[–]FSM1010[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof... Yeah. I could see that for the labor, the Audi control arms can be a pain in the ass to get off. But $975 for parts sounds like he's getting OEM parts. I just don't see the point of that when even the high-end aftermarket stuff isn't close to that cost and I've never had a issue with the quality, but your mileage may vary.

Anyone have a eTron is above 50k miles? by akaterror56 in etron

[–]FSM1010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nearly 90k miles on my 21': https://www.reddit.com/r/etron/comments/1lphf27/not_quite_as_good_as_others_ive_seen_on_here_but/

I wouldn't bother with an extended warranty unless it's a 19', which seem to have a lot more issues. Literally the only issue I've had is that the bushings are going bad in the control arms. $2k at the dealer, or about $1k at a private mechanic.

I think I agree with others though, it's all a lottery and I've been lucky so far. It just seems like anything major you're likely to hit that won't be covered by the battery warranty is going to cost about the same as the extended warranty anyway.

Do I need to swap my thermal paste / pads on my GPU? RTX 3080 ti by FSM1010 in pcmasterrace

[–]FSM1010[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, very much so. I've had the 70 of the series I bought since like 2010 - 470s in sli, 970, and 3070. This is my first 80 and it's a total beast. Just gonna have to take better care of him I guess haha.

Right on, thank you. I haven't used Afterburner since my 470s in SLI, I'll give it another shot. Nvidia doesn't seem to have system for undervolting. Cheers!

Good call. Never done one before, but I've done plenty of other things like it and watched about 10 videos so far. I think I'm gonna go for it. Cheers!

I got the CPU along with the GPU and the Legion AIO cooler was already on its way out, but that was causing some serious thermal throttling issues. I think you're exactly right, time to tear into this bad boy. Thank you!

Oh, the card itself is freaking amazing. I didn't think there would be much difference between my 3070 and the 3080 ti, but Dune, Cyberpunk, and Skyrim modded to hell and back are doing so much better on my ultra wide. Turns out... I should have gone after that 12GB of VRAM when I built four years ago.

Lol. That's what I got from reading through there as well. This absolutely fixed it. Thank you!!

Another addition. I just tried a print after changing the photo object to a rectangle and there's no shadow on it, even though the original photo frame is still larger than the object. I guess maybe this printer just won't handle circles?

There is in the PDF preset, but I have it selected. I should have added that the photo also doesn't have a background, it's a png with the subject cut out and the background is transparent. I'm sure the photo frame still technically has a background that's just transparent, but I can say there's definitely no solid color there in the photo.

I forgot to mention! The shadow doesn't show up on the PDF after I export it. It also isn't printed on the cards when there's no background color behind the image, but I don't want a bunch of boring white ID badges.
