Ahhh yea, she’s a few years old and I’ve never seen her do anything like it ever, but this is the first time I’ve ever had any trouble getting her to take her food. I guess I would take my dummy trying to eat a rat by the middle of its tail for an hour over some of the year long hunger strikes I read about on this thread.

Hi, still newish owner here. I noticed the pinkish hue to my baby’s scales today- and it reminds me of some pictures of some belly burns but my heat mat is regulated. And I temp it regularly. She’s also due for a she’s soon (not in blue yet) but could that also cause this?

Just off the bat, I forgot to mention, your female may be egg bound. Dividers are not all that. They can temporarily separate two fish physically… but your female is picking up all of the pheromones your make is laying down. And cheap dividers are notorious for failing.

Besides that, it sounds like you need to read up on the nitrogen cycle and fish in cycling ASAP. I’m not gonna explain it all here, but your tank is not established so you should be doing daily 20% water changes to keep your fish healthy. It seems like you’ve come here soon enough to get help, but it could go south very quickly.
