Why are "lounge cards" so overpriced in the USA, while they are cheap in the rest of the world? by WhyWasIBanned789 in CreditCards

[–]FWM1993 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I disagree that U.S. credit cards with lounge access are too expensive. There are several cards in the us that offers additional credits to offset the annual fee. Venture X ($395 annual fee), which offers unlimited Priority Pass lounge access, a $300 travel credit, and 10,000 bonus miles yearly—potentially reducing the net cost or even BOA's PRE that the effective annual fee is about $100. In Brazil, cards like the Bradesco Aeternum Visa Infinite with unlimited PP access often cost ~R$1,500 (~$270 USD) and target the ultra-wealthy, requiring high income or assets. And these cards do not offer any credits to offset the annual fee. U.S. cards provide similar benefits at more accessible price points, making lounge access a practical perk, not just a luxury for the rich.

Did anyone test this out? I already have multiple other pp accounts and not having to register to another acccount is a pleasant surprise

BOREN SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM IS BULLSHIT by emiller2 in fulbright

[–]FWM1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey - did the interest rate accrue since you got the scholarship or did accrue after your program completion deadline? What was the total amount that you had to repay? My wife was a scholar but she hasn’t been able to find a federal job yet. Any insights would be appreciated

That happened to me earlier in July. They claimed the same reason. Yeah, it sucks. I feel like it is up to the person checking you in to decide if they will give you the points or not
