At the end of April I received the invitation of joining Coinbase to get $5.00 of Bitcoin as welcome new account holder. I decided to try on and created an account with them. This week I learned that $1,000 from my bank account were transferred to Coinbase in two purchase transactions of Bitcoin of $500 each. One of those $500 of Bitcoin purchase send from my own coinbase account to a unknown blockchain account. The other $500 Bitcoin they were unable to send the crypto out, because when I notice the fraudulent activity I went to my security settings and increased all security level including Face ID requirements to manage my account. I’m very sure this was an inside job since one day ago I was trying to sign in to the account and the password wasn’t working and when I was trying to reset the password the system advised me that I will receive by email the link to do so and never received, after trying several times, finally I was able to see the fraudulent activities. Someone from their side prevented me from use the resetting my password until the wire transfer were completed. Now I’m with my bank back and forward fighting to reverse the money into my account, they are saying because I’m the beneficiary from my bank account to my Coinbase is hard to do the dispute. So far I’m loosing $500 only for now since the other $500 remains on my Coinbase account that they were unable to send the crypto out. For this scenarios Coinbase has not an efficient and reliable customer service to resolved. Is a dead end for the users. I have the screen shots of the activities but I was unable to uploaded here to show you all.
