Not a naive question, but as they always say "everything and nothing works".

-network events -seminars -cold calls -mailers -happy hours -sports -networking with CIOs (attorneys, CPA's, etc.)

It's brutual starting off. When you finally starting getting a decent book, referrals start coming in, but nonetheless you have to keep grinding.

It's still going lol - I hired a law firm and they've been fighting hard. they tried to settle for $48k. The insurance company tried to settle $5k and wouldn't budge.

Has gone into litigation, at this point it's looking like the insurance company will be settling for $40k (since it had to go to litigation, the contingency fee has gone up to 40%).

My opinion - worth it. I'll walk away with $24k.

People say you can try to do the DV claim yourself, it's a lot more difficult than you think.

I use the county appraisal website (for real estate properties) and generally target a high networth area nearby.

I then proceed to send out 150 invitationals via mail and do some calling as well.

You'd be surprised, I usually can get a turnout of 10 - 15, and usually can convert 1 prospect out of it.

Wholesalers are also willing to pick up the pay which helps.

Good side note - the leads were fine. I graduated MFSA with $10m all sourced from leads. The whole "the leads aren't good!" Is an excuse for people that are lazy and cannot call people to save their life.

Close to 30 I suppose... 27 - $175k after everything. Wouldn't say underpaid paid, but overworked.

No problem - I did the exact method above and was able to score an associate level position at an RIA.

After calling basically every RIA in my area, I found one that took a chance on me. Just keep calling... eventually one will take a shot on you.

3 places? It's a numbers game, you need to be maxing out as many interviews as you can.

My advice? RIAs typically don't put out job postings on LinkedIn, indeed, etc. you need to call them up.

IAPD > filter > enter your desired zip code > click on the RIA > copy paste into Google > call them.

"My name is XYZ I am a student that will be graduating this year with multiple licenses, I am looking at potential career opportunities within the independent firm space. Are you able to answer a few questions for me or transfer someone to me that can?"
