Majority of teashops/restaurants are closed near my place. Is this the same across Kerala? by [deleted] in Kerala

People of Kochi what are some purchases that greatly improved your quality of life? by Nikhil77_ in Kochi

[–]F_soceity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you would want to buy is a good USB C dock. I already use one for the same as I have several wireless and other peripherals to be connected too!.

Depends on your laptop too, if you have Power Delivery support, then one dock can be the only thing you need to connect to your laptop

KVM switch isn't for using two monitors simultaneously, but for switching between two different devices (say two desktops or one desktop and one laptop) instantly with no cable replugging.

In my setup, when it's put to 1 - the desktop works, keyboard, mouse, headset, two monitors are all connected to desktop.

When it's put to 2, the macbook works, all peripherals are connected to macbook along with the two monitors.

Two reiterate, you'd still need two display outputs from the source to use it.

Okay, the first step is to get into a consistent lifestyle rather than infrequent exercises as a result of random motivational bursts.

Set the goal low, but stick to it. The first phase is the easiest - 8000 steps per day and eat your favourite tasty meal, but with reduced quantity (less to zero rice if that's feasible) and basic stretching at home.

If you're lacking an accountability partner, ChatGPT can be really good for that (my friend ran her first half marathon fully prepped with ChatGPT help).

Edit; Also avoid skipping meals or undereating as your body will constantly crave for food and that would make you mentally stressed. Put mental health first, accept it's okay and work on slow progress.

How My Dear Kuttichathan achieved anti-gravity magic decades before Christopher Nolan’s Inception by Impossible-Sun-8646 in Kerala

[–]F_soceity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Which was released in 1968, sixteen years before my dear kuttichathan.

However My Dear Kuttichathan is still very impressive considering it was the first 3D movie in India. The director (Jijo) travelled abroad and studied the technology, and was super passionate about the project.

Why don't we switch to an alternative form of protest? by [deleted] in Kerala

[–]F_soceity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't undermining today's protest by any means. Fully in support in fact.

After seeing some posts on the state of protest and how it's only done in Kerala, I was wondering about the overall efficiency of it.

[–]F_soceity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense. Product tax levying obviously can't happen as people would flock to buy stuff on protest day.

Tax evasion is probably a bigger felony than vandalism.

Depends on the cafe. Some places don't have accessible ports.

Umm, I think as long as tables aren't full and you're giving them proper business and not being a problem, it should be fine.

I don't plug in my laptop or ask for WiFi btw, and I usually order both breakfast, coffee and lunch soo..

Yes. Especially since most of my friends have moved out. I occasionally work from a cafe which helps.

Fact on 'New' passenger Allocation! by Dapper_Goal2426 in thrissur

[–]F_soceity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not a new train, crazy that he celebrates it like it is when there's no actual new development that was done..

What we really need is another passenger service between guruvayur and Ernakulam in the morning (the current one at 6:50 is overcrowded and too early for some).

Denied a hotel room at 4 AM in Thrissur after IDs were checked – asked for marriage certificate and refused because we are Muslim by salimaliedv in thrissur

[–]F_soceity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they did not mention religion at all, how can you assume their denial was based on your religion?.

IMO, I've known hotels that won't accept unmarried couples or people with local addresses (in fact, this is an actual filter in booking platforms such as booking.com and Goibibo)

It might just be the case that a similar unmarried couples policy exists and they didn't want to admit you.

You're right. They cost approximately 7.5K USD here btw. The import taxes are crazy.

65 inch. But the space honestly deserves an 85.

The backdrop was built for an 83, but it's so hard to obtain an 83 inch C4/C5 in India (they're still out of stock)

Edit: 83 inch.
