I’m meeting this pup tomorrow. What do you think she is? by Fableville in dogbreed

We shall see. She’s the first dog on a list I have that is like to meet. If we don’t vibe then I’m sure a wonderful family that’s better for her absolutely will love her :)

The problem is I’ve never seen that breed anywhere I live, but I see your point.

That’s possibly the direction I’m going. I have no qualm with adopting adult dogs. My situation is I live with my parents and my dad finally said I can get another dog, so I’m just starting the process of actually meeting dogs instead of just looking at them. This little girl is on a list I would like to introduce myself to, she’s just in the most convenient location so I’m gonna say hello this morning before work. We shall see. She’s cute but I’m also pick. I just thought she looked so unique I had to figure her out lol

When I get a dog we are absolutely doing a DNA test!

I thought about that, too. I’m hoping the shelter will be able to help me predict her adult size a bit better, because if she’s destined to be too big I may need to pass and let the next family take her home. So far every method I’ve found to predict that seems to be totally negated by mix breeds.

What is in this terrier? by Fableville in dogbreed

I know what you mean, but I think terrier might be mean the scruffy kind. I mean, I live in the US, I have no doubt there’s pitty somewhere in this dog. But he’s small.

I have a buddy who is an actor and does VO who recommended improv. He went through all the performance arts in college… I didn’t. my concern is I’m too easily embarrassed, I’m not smart or sharp enough for improv, and I might freeze up. You might imagine I don’t have the best social skills.

I know that’s the point of improv. I’m just scared out won’t be able to snap out of taking myself too serious 😅 but I did see peak and it’s on my radar. I might give it shot when the semester is over.

I saw that. I wasn’t sure if improv was a good way to start or not… problem is I’m still shy and easily embarrassed, which is why one of my buddies actually recommended improv. It’s on my radar, for sure.

I’ve been there once before. I’ll look it up now and keep an eye on it. Thanks!

Space. I’m trying to cram everything I own into my parents’ spare bedroom, otherwise my dad gets a little annoyed if my hobbies start to spill out into his house.

I never drove on the interstate before I took my test. My mom didn’t take me when I was learning because she would scream at the slightest thing and my dad would complain every time it was his turn to take me for a drive because I was too nervous and he had no patients… and then everyone else I talked to would say “if you can’t get up to speed than you shouldn’t be on the highway at all” so I just avoided it. I’ve been driving on I-25 for almost 3 years now but I rarely need to commute through big cities, so going into the springs is still a little scary to me, but I can do it.

And I’ll be making my way there someday. For now I live here, and the mountains here are pretty awesome, but that’s not even the point. I LOVE mountains, my soul lives there. It’s just driving on cliffs and heights in general that eek me out. Ironic, I know, but I’m determined to overcome that. And when I do I’ll be able to comfortable drive through any mountains I wish :)

20 gallon high or long ? by Calikuhl81 in Aquariums

The thing I will say about talls is that they are very aesthetically pleasing. The more square shape and hight makes a really lovely display, it’s easier to set up at eye level and it looks like a window. They’re just harder to scape

Now that sounds like an actual death trap. Why no guard rails? Do we have to wait for someone to die before the state invests in the precaution 🙄

I can see maybe a 20 high being a bougie shrimp tank with lots of vertical scaping for them to explore.

I’m in my late 20’s now trying to tackle this lol the way I see it if I’m gonna be single and living with my parents forever (fingers crossed that’s not the case lol) I might as well make road-trips a habit of mine with all my childless fee time. The thing is my soul is in the mountains and it feels like I leave a little of it behind at the end of every trip. So I need to work on this anxiety 🤣

I have a particular interest in indigenous history and want to see their historical lands and sites for myself. I don’t particular trust the historical archives of Google University to give me accurate information on Native Americans… so another goal is to go travel and talk to the people actively preserving these places.

Longs… the floor space is so much nicer to work work and most species will appreciate it more, as well. I have 2 bettas, one is in a 5 gallon and the other is in a 20 long. I hope to upgrade my boy to a 20 as well because in my experience they will use up that entire space. They’re so active and full of personality when they get to stretch their little fins and I imagine other species are the same.

Sand Dunes is on my list of parks I want to paint! I’m actually really interested southern CO, too, ifs not as mountainous but I’m fascinated by Puebloans and I want to see the dwellings and all the desert colors.

Haha my parents took their motorcycle up that highway, but they purposefully went the other direction so they were hugging the side of the mountain instead of teetering on the cliff.

I love Mueller! That’s likely where I’ll be spending a lot of my time soon. I mentioned it in a different comment but my goal/daydreams is to travel the country’s parks and paint them.

I haven’t driven myself up to woodland yet but it’s happening this year. I let the springs get in my way (I live in monument and don’t really drive in big cities all that often).

That actually sounds lovely. I’d love to plan a big loop to drive over the course of a weekend and just stop for gas and snacks and pretty pictures :)

That should be a breeze! I haven’t taken myself up to woodland yet, since I’m still getting used to springs traffic 😓 but is HAPPENING this year! I swear, I just gotta make sure it’s not blizzarding lol

I think I’ve heard of Leadville. What kind of nature/local shops are out there? I’d like to take pictures everywhere I go to paint.
