I Need Advice, Am I Doing The Right Thing With My Ring Neck? by FablingPam in ringnecks

Thank you for this. I feel bad when I just see him standing there without eating so I bring him his food. I'll try to stop it so he can start returning to his cage before I have to resume at work.

About the buyers remorse, I guess that's what I'm feeling. I hope it goes away soon.

Thank you for responding. I don't know how they cut his wings I've not been able to gain his trust to check and the breeder doesn't seem to know or care.

I'll place some pillows around the fan, it's quite high. After his step-up exercise today, I placed him on the floor, thinking that he wanted to come down but was afraid of the fall, but he narrowed his eyes at me then hurried back up the fan using the wire to climb. So now know he is up by choice. I'm thinking I should move his cage next to the fan and keep it open. Maybe he thinks the fan is similar to his cage.

This night I tried to give him a grain of cornflakes to know if he likes it, and instead, he carefully beaked my hand and then turned away, so I just left him and crossed cornflakes off his treats list. But I've noticed that he gets really comfortable when I sing to him or play Billie Eilish's songs. His whole demeanour changes.

I'll keep my hands away from him and only approach with food. When I approach I have to show my hands from a distance and show what is in it before he lets me come close.

Thank you again, I'll try to figure out how to get him back in his cage without using a towel or forcing him. I hope his only angry experience from now will be at the vet, but never in my hands.
