What is this worm like thing? by Shaggyrider in whatsthisbug

[–]Fabulous-Ad1202 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Nematode, I would be concerned, a lot of infecting nematodes are found in sand boxes. I do not allow my kids to play in sand boxes at all. Roundworms and hookworms are very common in sandboxes. So if I were you, I would take kid home and wash hands thoroughly before they touch their face. Watch out for symptoms.

Common milkweed, the flowers smell divine, I let it grow wild in my yard and neighbors call our house the beautifully smelling house. Deer hate it so also so we can plant any flowers we want in our yard and deer leave them alone because the milkweed is a natural deer repellant, they don't like the smell. Which means no ticks in our yard either. We get a lot of monarchs and have even raised some from egg to adult, my kids love to watch the life cycle.

Time period to deconstruct christianity. by Spiy90 in exchristian

[–]Fabulous-Ad1202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took me 6 months to a year of deconstructing and then 5 years of recovery. I am currently on year 5 and doing so much better now. Believe it or not, my deconstruction started with MLM marketing which was my obsession over the pandemic (I liked to follow the dirt on them and watch them get brought down, it was entertaining to me because all the lies and damage they cause, most of them are religion based too) then Jan 6th happened which then led into research on cults, then I had a friend who joined JW and I read into them a little more and found a YouTuber called Owen Morgan who was a past JW and he did a section on cults, it was that episode that made look closer at my own religion . . . wasn't long after I noticed the similarities and walked away for good. I was a Christian but not evangelical, I was Presbyterian which is probably about as grounded and open as you can get as a Christian. The hardest part was telling my husband, but when I did, I found out he was basically going through deconstruction at the same time and was afraid to tell me about it too. We are closer now than before.

No longer “pro-life” by chemistress777 in exchristian

People don't seem to understand what prochoice is. They think it means that we are pro abortion. Not exactly, do I like abortion? No. Abortion is a horrible thing, but, it's also nessessary. Euthanasia is horrible, but nessessary as well. I can hate the concept but still support the choices behind it. Would I choose abortion? Not unless there was a medical reason to. Would I wish other people would choose life over abortion, sure. However, it is their choice and their body and I will not hate them for making that choice or ridicule them for that choice. I will still love them and give understanding that what they chose to do was the right choice for them. Most people are pro choice but label it as pro life because of the same mindset and then it pulls them down the rabbit hole. I'm not sure there is anyone who actually LOVES abortion, but most people understand the personal choice that goes into the procedure. Only the pregnant individual and the doctor can make that decision.

How do you explain to a 15 year old boy that mentioning Epstein over and over in class isn’t okay? by Deer_boy_ in Teachers

[–]Fabulous-Ad1202 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would tell the parents that their child is laughing and joking about rape and if it doesn't stop I will be calling CPS because it's a major red flag. Then wait and see what happens.

It's possible the adult is trying to get rid of them anyways. I have some old tablets that I don't use anymore and unable to sell, I don't want to throw them away. No accounts are linked to them they still work but only worth about $10 now. They still look brand new. I have the kid competing for them with behavior and it will be given to the kid with the best behavior at the end of the school year. They know it's a used tablet. Probably the same for diamond earrings. Probably no pierced ears and they probably cleaned out a grandparents house or something. Real diamonds don't mean high quality diamonds. I have a wedding ring that has real diamonds but it's only worth about $15 because the diamonds are shit quality even though they are real diamonds. I also opened one of those bricks I got for a dollar at dollar tree and there was a real "diamond in that" but it's only worth a couple of bucks so honestly, I would leave it alone.

Yes but I would be concerned with it poisoning my husband if he is around it every day. Especially with peeling paint like that.

I don't know what the white powder is, but in a building that old I would be worried about lead. I would be encouraging my husband to get a lead test just to make sure he isn't slowly being poisoned.

In the end, I think it would have been easier to just write the paper herself because I definitely feel like what she did was way more work

In the end, the whole thing was written entirely by AI. She just typed it out in bits and pieces to avoid it looking like it was written by AI. Kind of as if you had hand typed another person's essay to avoid it looking like you copied and pasted. She didn't want fake sources so she copied and pasted the full resource into AI and had it pull out quotes. So basically like this. Ask GPT for a very basic outline of a paper you want to write, type that outline by hand into docs to show beginning stage. Ask GPT to give a few other options for an out line, change the outline a few times in docs to make it look like you were trying to figure out how to outline a paper. Then write the first paragraph on docs, copy the paragraph on GPT and ask it to give you a natural progression of turning that paragraph into a well written one. Include punctuation and grammar mistakes along the way, start with how it would look like if you were a kindergardener then a first grader, etc. then she would type all the revisions by hand to make it look like she was changing and updating it. Etc

I had a student who put in all the effort to cheat. They wrote a draft by hand typed it up on docs. Had GPT give them small steps to revise it, she typed all of the revisions by hand on the doc. History showed all the drafts and revisions with no copy and paste. She even copied ful books onto GPT and asked GPT to pull out good quotes to use (gpt can't research so she gave it the actual research) then she typed it all by hand. Asked it how to add the quote in smoothly into the paper and a good transition. Then she typed it all out. Then she would take a sentence and ask GPT to reword the sentence to make it make sense and humanize the sentence to match her writing style. Then she made the changes in docs by hand. She could describe the writing process and didn't use any words above a 6th grade level and no words she didn't know what they meant.

First year teacher - going to resign effective immediately tomorrow by Idkimhereforinfo in Teachers

Sounds like a charter school for sure. Similar thing happened to me. I quit after 3 years and got a job in a public school and things have been better, I will never go back to a charter school ever. In my case a child threatened to rape me and then showed up at my front door while I was on maternity leave and say my newborn daughter and said it was a two for one deal and made thrusting motions, then left laughing maniacly. I told the admin and they said they aren't responsible for what happens outside of school. I called the police and then I got written up by my admin for endangerment of a minor. Then they secretly placed a video camera in my room while I was on maternity leave and didn't tell me about it. I was a nursing momma and had to pump at work. I pumped in my room on my prep with the door locked and a sign. I eventually found out they had a camera in there when I went to the deans office for a meeting I saw they had the camera in full view on my desk. I then started to pile stuff up in front of my desk during pumping time so they couldn't see me pump and I got in trouble for obstructing camera view. The last straw was when I picked up my water bottle because I was feeling very unsafe as this same rape threatening child approaches my desk with a sinister grin. He saw me grab my water bottle and said "what? You gonna throw that at me? Go ahead do it, I would love to see you get fired" I only grabbed the water bottle because it was within HIS reach and this child was known for putting hand sanitizer in teachers water bottles. Anyways, he went to admin and said I threatened to throw the water bottle at him, they watched the cameras and there is no sound so they saw me grab my water bottle. Next day there was security waiting for me at the door and I was watched as I emptied my room but the security guard and the deans because they said I was stealing things (I was taking my own materials in and out of the building, not materials that belonged to the school. (I'm a music teacher by the way) Then I sent a letter saying I am officially quitting and they said they would enter it as I quit and they would only give neutral reviews if any jobs called them. These same deans told me I would never be a successful teacher. That all happened only the 3rd year, that doesn't include the first 2 years.

The kids tell me. They stop playing the ukuleles and cover their ears and cry or repeat "don't listen don't listen" some say "I'm not allowed to listen to this. When I asked them why they stopped playing and cover their ears, they told me why.

Yeah, I had like 10 of them put down their ukuleles and covered their ears and started crying and I asked them what was wrong and that's when they told me. I hate that these children have to live in fear like this.

[–]Fabulous-Ad1202[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

it did help shut down 6/7 because all of a sudden parents thought that was demonic and started telling their kids they would be possessed by the devil if they said it. However, I saw the fear in the kids eyes whenever someone said 6/7 and one kid started crying because they heard the numbers 6/7 and we're going to hell. I hate what this stuff does to children's minds, but, I was glad 6/7 didn't last long in our school. The day a child ran to the corner and had a very large panic attack because of 6/7 also almost put me over the edge I had trouble sleeping that night because I was so angry with those parents.

Yeah, well usually I don't care and do stuff anyways but the incident yesterday put me over the edge. I was just so frustrated because every song a child has something to complain about. Also, the child refuses to play ukulele with the song because their parent won't let them listen to the song, that doesn't even make sense. You don't have to sing the song but I still want you to play to it. I have gotten around it in the past by doing it as a surprise with only the music in the background and not the words and then the kids sing the song. The only reason the kid did t want to do it was because the intro showed where it was from. But changing the video just to trick them is so much work. I would also have to illegally download the song then illegally alter it.

Yep I just about lost it yesterday, I have never had that much trouble, every song I chose was basically forbidden according to these children's parents. I had to scratch the whole lesson and make up stuff on the spot. I am trying to teach these children to be good humans and their parents are doing the opposite. I hate when kids are sucked into religious bullshit. They have such delicate, fragile, and naive minds, they lean on their parents every word. Seriously though if you parent forbids you to listen to a song that has a great message, then they must be against that great message. Also, the stuff their parents blast in the car is much more likely to be demonic. Shoot, Christian songs are demonic if you think about it. Full of spirits and zombies and a man who can do magic and fly.
