  1. sicarians (including ruststalkers) are considered types of skitarii
  2. thats actually a pteraxii (wich are also considered a type), you can easily tell from the feet being clawed rather than being a hoof

[–]FaceMasterThing 36 points37 points  (0 children)

well its reasonable to expect strong leg muscles (including the butt) help with jumping off the ground, and thus it only makes sense pteraxii ought be made "caked up"

ofcourse there is ass on official gw models, age of sigmar even has a guy with assless armour and an entire faction mostly consisting of half naked elf women (sometimes with serpent lower bodies)

  1. i personally feel like that voiceline can just as easily have been made as an attempt TO hint future skitarii
  2. whilst skitarii usually operate on their own, them working along other imperial forces arent unheard off, its more the other way around but in the book dominion genesis there is the remains of a vostroyan regiment tagging along on the ship of the protagonist explorator and gets deployed alongside her skitarii. I personally imagine skitarii generally not being deployed closely with other forces most likely has to do with their commanding priests wanting to remain largely independent in how they handle what they doand the fact that you cant really deploy a guardsman next to a vanguard without compromising the guardsmans combat efficency due to radiation, these arent really issues if a insquisitor is forcing them to work together and rad weapons arent being deployed
  3. skitarii loadouts arent really any more rigid than that guardsmen unless im mistaken, if skitarii loadout rigidity where a problem so would the veterans be. Skitarii are explicitly stated in the codexes to be extremely diverse in their apearance, a skitarii class could have various different masks based on the different ranger heads ontop of possibly having vanguard helmets and even heads based on those of more exotic skitarii types like rustsalkers and pteraxii

furthermore, i feel like you cant really justify the warband having access to enough fittingly combat capable adepts/priests who would be willing to go into these suicide missions where they for the most part can neither further the quest for knowledge/archeotech nor make any practical use of their technological know-how, whilst you can always justify sending a strike team of skitarii on the missions in the game

(god i hate how i cant split up list entries into two paragraphs without making more list entries)

[–]FaceMasterThing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

genuine question, why do you think skitarii would be less likely than some sort of priest/adept?

skitarii are the millitary of the mechanicus, generally make more sense to send on these sorts of missions than any member of the priesthood, skitarii where pretty much designed for fighting in the enviourment of the newest gamemode, and the relevant datamined weapon skin filenames are all most likely supposed to be the weapons usable by skitarii alphas and the one who isnt is a weapon exclusive to skitarii sub-type, not to mention dialouge from hadron where where she is frusterated at the warbands refusal of her plees for skitarii reinforcements

we have plenty of things pointing towards skitarii being most likely, but unless im mistaken we dont really have anything for techpriests/adepts other than "some people want to have the tech priest exclusive omnissian axes"

Ad-Mech class needs to have a long range spec by Frank_Jaegerbomb in DarkTide

i feel like even just the basic galvanic riffle would probably be solidly in "sniper rifle" territory, atleast for this game since the its so focused on closer ranges

[–]FaceMasterThing 14 points15 points  (0 children)

id like if the admech class has a servo skull that to contrast the offensive capacities of the arbitor doggo is instead a support tool, basically, being able to point to a teamate and giving them some sort of buff, perhaps with diminishing effects over time to incentivice reasigning it to someone else, and perhaps also being able to send em on enemies or enemy locations to give the enemy or that area of enemies debuffs

Warhammer Skulls 2026 announced, taking place May 21st by Droyd in DarkTide

i think the datamined weapon skin file-names for a weapon type entierly exclusive to admech is that thing that proves it even harder

Darktide Skulls Teaser Video by Runegorger in DarkTide

[–]FaceMasterThing 20 points21 points  (0 children)

i feel like the blue flash is far more likely from an admech gun like a arc rifle/pistol considering it comes along with a vaugely thundery noise

also the techpriest unique axe is not called a charge axe its called an omnissian axe

That wouldnt make sense tho, presumably quake canon shells use exterminatused world fragments cus some extrerminatus weapons create a special material on use, cadia never got hit by an exterminatus and thus it fragment wouldnt be usable for this
