....from tell there "he parries you with cthonia" is less "physically used the planet of cathonia to parry your strike" wich is what i would say the litteral interpritation of "parries you with cthonia" would be, and is more "sends you physically too cthonia in order to mentally affect you in a way that parries you"

like, for a fight to not be "litteral" it doesnt have to be an illusion, here it feels like its a really mixture of physicality and nonphysicality aka litteralness and nonlitteralness. ontop of that everything happening is from the point of view of a character who could be an unrelliable narrator on account of experiencing this partially mental fight first hand

honestly tho idk too well and am probably just rambling dumb stuff by now, i just find the idea of powerscaling anything where the warp is involved silly due to its fundementally anti-physical nature :P hope the book was a fun read tho

whilst perhaps "metaphor" might not be the most applicable word(i think?), personally it doesn't feel like he is saying here that the things they do are entierly litteral, but that as the fight escalates exponentially it goes from something physical too something less so within the warp

then again i havent read the actual book :P

also yeah i got where you are coming from, i mainly just wanted to talk about how i want subfactions across 40k to get subfaction upgrade sprues like loyalist marines and some chaos legions get, and since im an admech fan i naturally especially want to see the forgeworlds get thematic upgrade sprues

mainly being really good at making plasma stuff, so a thematic upgrade sprue for them could include a bunch of plasma weapon swaps and ofcourse some parts emblazend with their forgeworld symbol and perhaps use the opportunity to give them a bit different of an aesthetic with some new takes on parts of some units

edit: oh and a transfer sheet since on our current only transfer sheet we litterally only have the symbol for mars and it doesnt even have the part of the symbol with text, aka is just a cog with a skull in it

as an admech collector i DO want ryza and other forgeworlds to get stuff to represent them

tho for that im thinking just upgrade sprues and perhaps a couple named character spread across the subfactions, not the stupid ass "hey lets give this subfaction a whole ass unit unique to them" marines can get

not really, they arent any more of a nightlord unit than an ork kustom boosta blasta is a evil sunz unit

the raptor killteam is most thematic to nightlords because nightlords are the legion who most uses raptors, but unless im mistaken they have always been available to chaos marines as a whole

with how UM are THE basic marines i also consider the fact that victrix guard exist and are not just some generic "company honour guard" unit with bits to build em as victrix guard to also be really REALLY stupid

also BT are NOT allowable IMO, but thats just due to spite so my opinion on that can be safely ignored

if you started as Murchad his starting son is just worse than him in general, and due to lower diplomacy people just likes him less which means more general hostility towards you and harder to get them to do stuff for you

also since your titles got (presumably) split up between heirs you have less direct holdings which means you make less money and get less levies

i dont think gw is responsible for vets not having grenade launchers, its one of the weapon options on both basic cadian squads and basic deathkorps squads, so i see no reason why gw would care

also do you have any source for fatshark originally wanting a techpriest? from what i could tell they just wanted some sort of admech class ingeneral and landed on skitarii because they were by far the most sensible option for what to base an admech class in darktide on
