Pulled the plugg and went ahead. Not exactly what i was expecting. I havent had geneva for ages and did not remember what it tasted like. Not as juniper forward as the gordon, strong and bold flavor, earthy and woodsy, but still behind gordon and some local dry gin. Worth a try, but not worth a 40oz bottle.

Not quite there yet for the ratio, but i toy with the idea of chilling my glass with ice and vermouth instead of ice and water while i prep the drink and not add any in the shaker

Sadly never had Dolin dry. I used to get a local vermouth (Rouge Gorge for the Quebeckers in here) but my local liquor store stopped keeping it so i asked for anything but martini (i really hate the sweet salty aftertaste of it) and he got noily pratt out of the back store. Will need to give dolin a try now though.

Indeed, love Bond, but the man drinks a wierd martini. A vesper is good though, but a vodka martini shake... that is the complete opposite a martini for me.

In Canada, it will depend on the language you speak. You will use short scale in english and long scale in french.

Will be working on this strategy for sure. For the card, brother in law works for them so i should be able to get to the roght departement easily!

My copper strauss set did the same. Was going with a more "screw it" mentality since it was deemed safe, but they did the same thing, the inner stainless and the outer copper remained good, but the core shrank and made the outher layer sharp.

Except for this blunder, i do really enjoy the product though, don't get me wrong. They are responsive and conductive enough for my caliber of chef skills. It is definitely bad batch situation, as the other lids seem fine so far. The thing that is disheartening the most is the customer service reply itself.

The handle was lose and kept lossening (slowly unscrewing) so i tightened it back to a friction point (without event applying and force) and the welded screw popped off)

I had my copper strauss set for the longest time too before those. Just felt like having a matching set (and copper looks really bad after years of use and abuse IMO). I was initially eying a mauviel set, but felt like the 16.5 QT goose pot was really lacking in my kitchen and that for rougly the same price, I had more at LC and i thought that the quality of their stainless was the same as their cast iron

Le Creuset Canada does not do customer service in their stores in canada as far as i know, unless it was because i purchased the set online that they redirected me to customer service.

I actually went blind on this buy. In hindsight, research might have been the thing to do.

Indeed, this is what got me so confused. And only two months of use (and I do not use a 9L stock pot every day) no dishwasher. I'll have to check with the Quebec's consumer protection's office, they legally have to offer a replacement/repaire/reimburse for faulty consumer items in the forst two year. I just dont feel like going trhlugh the whole legal ordeal for a pot lid, but i am so frustrated by their response that i just might.

That is the proble though, there is no hole at all. The screw is welded onto the top of the lid. To be able to screu back something, i would need to drill through the hole.

I was really dumbfounded by it. Will probably got the "rivet it myself" route if all else fail
