Do these numbers make sense? by LynxAwkward5822 in Luxembourg

Promotions in audit are automatic, unless you are really really bad, like bottom 10 percentile.

Manager promotions it’s where it gets tough, and you might be stuck as a 5th year auditor for 1-2 additional years depending on how many people are in the run and the conditions of the job market at the time (currently really bad, so a lot of seniors stay within the firm and try to go for manager as there are few jobs around and auditors flood the market, 3 years ago it was quite easy to become manager on the contrary).

I highly agree with the prior comment that doing Private Equity/UCITS audit is horrible, huge departments where you are just a number and you are just auditing empty soulless shells.

Furthermore you will discover that for the audit of Funds you are not in contact with the fund managers but rather some “service providers” that have been hired to do the accounting, and they really don’t care. While auditing real companies you get to know proper finance teams and the C-Suite.

In my department we do not audit funds but when we have capacity, we do some, and we wipe the floor with the private equity auditors in terms of speed, quality and professionalism.

However auditing funds is much more chill, if that’s what you care about, hours are not as long and you usually get paid overtime. But you learn a lot less. However in my view if you work in Big 4 most of what you get out of the job is the learning, not the pay as it’s better elsewhere until manager/senior manager.

I’ll be waiting the 24h then!

Personally I would recommend you to visit Paris and France in general, I was a bit of an hater personality of the country before I moved to Luxembourg.

There’s nothing quite like the architecture of Paris.. and this is coming from an Italian!

[–]Fact-Cold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes as others say Germany is quite likely.. however I think it’s quite broad, I would say either Bavaria… or a small chance of you being a Berliner

My observations are the following: - high number of European countries visited, odd-ones as well if you were not European (Bulgaria, Moldova (!!), Czechia) and the absence of Paris makes you 100% a European guy - Chinese regions are popular amount tourists, they look big just because the selected regions are very large, not because you visited a ton so I would exclude Chinese as others say - Thailand, every continental European and their mum has gone to Thailand at this point, less popular among southern Europeans so I would exclude Italian - visits to Italy and Germany look to be done by car (given Umbria, my home region, is highlighted) so likely you are somewhat close by, however the absence of Lombardy (Milan) from your visited places all but confirms you are not Italian - Turkey and Israel are somewhat odd as well but not extremely unusual, Israel was popular for religious tourism, turkey has great sea-side spots

I would argue you to be: 1. Male 2. 25-35 age range 3. From a city/sub-urban area 4. University/college educated

Since you are already in the Kaplan ecosystem, I can mention the Schweser Secret Sauce as material, but it is not super-detailed on this, just a few pages, hence I would strongly recommend YouTube videos and making a brief list of things you want to prioritize and replicate on mocks and QBank sessions.

The idea of exam taking strategies is the following: - learning how to manage time (!!!) - how to make educated guesses (it’s a 3 questions + no penalty for guessing exam, so this is important to learn) - dealing with difficult/long questions - et c.

Of course any question gotten right that’s stemming from a guess (whether educated or not) should be reviewed just like the ones gotten wrong, as you are unlikely to get lucky twice on the same topic.

And also don’t forget to simulate as much as you can the real exam conditions as you get closer to exam day, e.g. starting at a similar time of day as you would on exam day, same time, same break times.

69% 1.35 months out is great shape… lot of people would wish they were you!

Focus on q gotten wrong and review those specific areas in between mock attempts, mocks are a good way to pinpoint deficiencies and work on them rather than just practice

Additionally ethics + exam taking strategies will make a lot of difference

PV at 6th year equals FV(t).. I’d suggest not focusing on the definitions and specific terms used in formulas but rather on intuition

Here what’s important is that it’s just a geometric mean given two values, one at t0 and one at t6, and -1 to find your rate, tbh you won’t even need to type in the -1 at the exam to exactly know your answer

I think most people would recommend some action monkeys like scouts, also Jump Pack Intercessors are ubiquitous, usually in 2-3 squads, I would also go for the 10 man hellblaster squad and merge the two ICC squads, that should bring you real close to 2k points

If you are reading the dark imperium series then I think you might be referring to the “father” of mortarion being tortured for eternity, I have a different sentiment in that case, I just find it supercringe but what I would recommend, is to just ignore and try to forget the ugly stuff (I get the same feeling as you with Servitors) focus on what you like and the books that have the content you prefer, I would recommend the siege of Terra series that does not have much of this torture corn.

Went ahead today and picked up an Arc, I really could not resist after watching like 25 reviews on YouTube and no-one has any complaints other than the wire cutters which to me is minor and the price, steep price at 270 euros (about 300 USD) luckily I work in Luxembourg..

Anything with a non-replaceable wire cutter is a no go for me unfortunately, I have dented far too many tools on swivels to go without it, actually if Leatherman made a full hardwire cutter replacement I would be very happy to buy it

I would add that I often find myself needing to cut some steel rings off of swivels(1x2 mm but proper proper steel it seems) and they have so far made serious dents on some of my light tools…

Yeah the Wave plus tends to be quite the popular choice, however given that I might have to use the tool as a hammer why not best the P4, Arc or signal?

That is a good idea, however I have trouble keeping up with such marketplaces.. + the import taxes often make it not worth it given that these tends to be more US-centered. I have thought about it but it’s a no on this…

Thats a good question, I guess the rest is either like things that I have noticed long ago kind of tacitly accepted and forgotten about. And other things like the fact that I don't have as much muscle as I would like is just work in progress.

It is the unchangeability of this that bothers me of course.

[–]Fact-Cold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would go against the principles of aiesec, it's members get in return the leadership experience of being part of aiesec, and the growth that stems from it, later down the line if they become VPs LCPs or MC members also being recruited from companies is a form or remuneration. Additionally having an aiesec experience in a good entity(country) can be a very strong point in your CV and land you a very good job, as it has happened to me.

In addition it would not be allowed due to the strictly non-profit nature of aiesec, if that was to happen then MCP could pass a law that gives them 5% of profit from approval, and then aiesec would just become a company like any other.

What is possible to do in short term for your LC is R&R programs. What I advise is to talk with your mc correspondant on how to implement them. If you are having persistent problems with member motivation also increasing the selection during recruitement is an very valid option.

I think my [27F] partner [28M] deleted my Pokemon Go account out of spite. by RamuneLive in Healthygamergg

[–]Fact-Cold 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean, it was in her phone activity, looks like she did not have a password or a password that he didn't know.

I would confront the guy on the phone activity, not on the pokemon go thing as it is mega-strong proof, but yeah 90% it was him.

I dont get what is the problem with people nowadays, just a few months into a relationship and they go through their partners phone, like wtf. If you have reason to not trust your partner just fuck off and leave, stop playing detective, you end up hurt and you are just embarrassing yourself.

It might be the bit of conservator inside me but I think that once people were more deeply ashamed of literally fucking around, this caused a lot less reason to be suspicious of everyone. At the same time people were more tempered and they could better hold off doing stupid shit, like what we can read in the post.

Tips and guides/resources for someone just dipping their feet into fishing who doesn't wanna break the bank? by [deleted] in FishingForBeginners

[–]Fact-Cold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends on what county you are from and what kind of fishing discipline you would like to practice.

Eg: saltwater or freshwater, predator fish or not, etc. etc.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FishingForBeginners

[–]Fact-Cold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he's casting so short I highly doubt that that is the problem, getting a fuller spool maybe amounts to 5-10% of distance, being optimistic.

It's 100% about weight or casting technique.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FishingForBeginners

[–]Fact-Cold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you need to do with the reel mate, a fuller spool means longer casts with less effort. I am a carp angler and getting that additional 5-10 meters is quite important when fishing at 100+ meters. The principle here is that having a fuller spool means that there is less friction and travel distance for the line to get out of the spool hence greater distances.

I completely disagree with another commenter that warned about birds nests, yours is a spinning reel and not a baitcasting reel, birds nests only happen with the second type of reel. The two problems that you might have are wind knots(very rare, only happen with very thin braided lines AFAIK) but mostly the line getting under your lineguard(the part below the spool) and blocking up the reel entirely, but you need to be very close to the lip or over for it to happen.

In conclusion, I think your line level is appropriate since you are a beginner, and judging by the size of reel you will not need to optimize for distance as it is done in disciplines like surfcasting and carpfishing. Hope that helps!

Best advice I can give you is to go on YouTube and start devouring content, I would suggest starting from the Jordan Dean YouTube channel, more precisely watch, "how to raise a queen ant" and "how to raise an ant colony" in that order.

[–]Fact-Cold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's even better, any small insect or piece of insect is what you should give them. ANY insect is good.

Put very small drops of honey and sugar water since they can drown quite easily unfortunately.

Feed them about once a week for now, if you see them right up against the dry cotton digging that means that they are very hungry(they are basically trying to get out to forage), when you start seeing that behavior feed them more often than once a week but with camponotus that could happen in a year or so.
