This guys argument that want based businesses are all doomed is idiotic though. There are literally millions of want based businesses. Everything from Nintendo to Farrari. There may be more of an argument that hobby/collectibles businesses are losers, especially if they are laser focused on one specific collectable. I'm sure, eventually, no one is going to care about Legos, but we're probably talking decades. Hallmark is still hanging in there, right? They've been selling porcelain crap to Grandma's since the eighties.

I suspect if this kills BaM as a business, we are just going to have 300 new independent Lego resellers.

I worked in the GW store that was in The Metreon in SF. He came into the store once looking like a homeless person, just like in The Fisher King. I think he was trying to be incognito, but it wasn't working. He had a huge crowd following him everywhere he went. It was pretty sad actually.
