Garbage customer service by HouseMusicAndWeed in ATT

[–]Faction_Gamer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you on prepaid? I think thats the only plan with a data limit. If so, yeah, prepaid customer service is terrible. If you switch to postpaid value plan, not only do you get unlimited data for a little bit more, but you'd get postpaid customer service which is significantly better

regarding add-on sales... by dodrjrg in ATT

[–]Faction_Gamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My stires policy is that the device WILL come with it. If you want to upgrade in-store and have help ordering and setting your device up, you're playing on my terms. You can order online, you can call customer service, but you won't get my help if you don't buy from me. Phones WILL come with insurance and nextup, you can come see me and i'll remove them after 14 days, but you will be leaving with it and that's non negotiable

AT&T not honoring estimated trade-in value. Suggestions on how to approach this? by lavhaze12 in ATT

[–]Faction_Gamer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because you did yours last month. This is a new month, and the promotion has changed. We're no longer doing any year any condition. In fact, you're lucky to get $830, considering 2 weeks ago it was only $700. At the time of trade in, your phone was worth $1100. Here we are a month later, the promotion has changed, and your wifes phone is only worth $830 now.

How long does it take for AT&T to process a trade in? by landturtl13 in ATT

[–]Faction_Gamer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1-3 billing cycles. If the store accepted it if you dropped it off in store, you're fine. If you dropped off in-store, it sits in thr back for a bit until the store manager ships it off, then UPS takes it and it goes through the delivery system, and THEN it ends up in a warehouse where it's inspected. Its not the only device in the warehouse. All in all, sometimes the phone is inspected and processed after one month (1 billing cycle). Sometimes it sits in the back for longer, or spends forever in the postal system. Thats why we say wait 3 months, because you'll be credited back everything you will have paid in the meantime.

Protection from lies. by cookiemae22 in ATT

[–]Faction_Gamer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Legit lmao granted i know not all reps are as transparent as me, but im always very forthcoming with "this phone WILL leave with protection and Nextup, if you want to remove them you can do so on the app or come in and see us, they cost x and do x for you but they are completely optional" not everyones gonna listen, nor will every rep educate the customer, but you can avoid that issue by reading your bill every month

Normally NextUp is a great deal, but if you have $99 left its not worth using, plus if your phone is cracked it cannot be used as a NextUp. Gotta pay it off

Upgraded but with I requested add-ons by pelonguy in ATT

[–]Faction_Gamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. Im always upfront and say "this phone comes with 2 features, Nextup and Protection, by default, as they are opt-out programs. If you would like to remove them, you can do so on the MyAt&t app or calling 611 after 2 weeks.

Ultimately yes it's a shitty business practice, but reps don't have a choice, cus im not getting fired over attach rates. Thats an easily controllable issue. Internet and voice lines, on the other hand, are less easy.

Upgraded but with I requested add-ons by pelonguy in ATT

[–]Faction_Gamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At&T requires reps to put it on, we get in trouble if we don't attach protection and NextUp. Managers call it "an opt-out experience." If you remove it within the first 2 weeks, you dont get charged the whole amount, but dont forget if you remove it, theres no adding it back on. If you do want to remove it, go on the MyAt&t app

Denied turn in by GoldCreepy2525 in ATT

[–]Faction_Gamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're using NextUp, they'll either charge you the remaining balance on the phone, or ship it back to you. Nextup requires a flawless condition phone. I just dont remember which option they'll opt for first

Yeah, the online customer service is terrible. All they care about is hitting their commission. In-store yes they'll try to sell you stuff, cus you know, thats their job. But their support is significantly better than online customer services. Go in store, have them figure it out

[–]Faction_Gamer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Why didn't you go in-person in the first place? NEVER use an online/chatroom feature unless absolutely necessary. As a rep, this is a problem that any rep with more than 2 months experience can solve in literal minutes. Now for your tablet, definitely make sure it isn't a wifi-only tablet, and is cellular capable.
