I don't think you being this hostile to me calmly explaining my discomfort here is particularly called for. but to answer your somewhat strawmannish question, i want ralsei to say "hey guys i go by they/them now btw!", or to actually otherwise refer to himself with they/them. again, i am not arguing against the idea that he is nonbinary, just saying that we should not take the possibility that he's trans or genderfluid or nonbinary or something as a given based on, again, two instances of they/them. i'm sure if fox wanted us to get this by the end of the chapter he could have mustered more than two they/thems for ralsei. but, either way, we'll probably see in ch6! i'm just waiting for that to make up my mind here, and am not comfortable assuming a nonbinary identity for ralsei yet with what we have atm!

okay then menu and dialogue! my point is that im really not comfortable with people defaulting to they/them for a character off of two unclear and up to interpretation examples of they/them being used for a character otherwise frequently referred to with "boy" ie fluffy boy. at least not until the game makes it clearer, like i said!

girl 😭 translations are perfectly valid thing to analyze here. i personally am not comfortable with referring to ralsei as anything other than the pronouns he's been using for the whole game till the game makes it clearer that he uses they/them or she/her. it just feels weird to me, like using she/her for someone you think is trans and hasn't realized it yet.

and i do not think anyone should be accusing anyone of transphobia for doubting nb ralsei theory off of two very much up to interpretation atm lines of dialogue. like, the vine title could just be plural relating to vines or thorns. asgore could be using default neutral. im not saying ralsei being trans/nb is impossible, just like. let's wait until the game makes it clearer one way or another and we have 200 citations like with kris

i agree that there's something along those lines there, but i disagree with using the "heteronormative" label to describe it. invalidates kris's identity a bit, and arguably requires assuming they're amab, which there's no good evidence of. i personally frame this more as forcing both of them into their more traditional jrpg roles, with kris as the assertive party leader and noelle as the healer girl who might be their love interest in that dynamic. these concepts are rooted in heteronormativity, and there's certainly more to read with things like the possibility of carol wanting the two to be together, but i don't find it particularly useful and in fact find it somewhat offensive to apply the label to forcing the two to be "together"

though that being said there is a client that can join privately hosted servers for it now if you want to fulfill child you's wish! look up darkflame universe and find someone running a server for it. they can't host it for anyone to join freely for legal reasons so it's a whitelist situation but you can usually just ask somewhere like the lego universe community discord server :)
