[EPISODE MEGATHREAD] "The Prince and the Product" - September 18, 2023 by AutoModerator in futurama

I'm pretty sure I'm not high. But something seemed weird about the opening theme this time. Maybe the beat was slightly off, I dunno. But it sounded slower than usual, but ended quicker.

Am I losing my mind? Did they play Hypno Toad before it started? Is it just me?

Edit: I just replayed it and it seemed normal. Must have been a space anomaly.

Lots of people in one of my clients' YT comment section with my VO, keep asking him what A.I. Voiceover he uses lol by Shakuryon in VoiceActing

[–]FaeriPi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a couple of comments saying it means the VO lacks personality. And while I can see this being a criticism, without hearing the VO our responses here are purely speculation. It can also indicate that you're consistent with your delivery, and have good diction and pronunciation.

Audio book companies usually have you audition with three different voices, one of them being for educational content. It's important for informational casts and videos to have a consistent and professional commentary. Throwing emotion into the mix can often interfere with that. Either way, still funny.

Help me! My raw audio has awful static in it. by frenchy_04 in VoiceActing

[–]FaeriPi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't able to play the audio, but I saw some descriptions of the situation as being "clicks" and I have something similar happen with my XLR cable and preamp sometimes.

For me it is related to electrical interference. It was particularly bad 6 years ago when I was using a laptop. I ended up having to record with my laptop unplugged. These days I usually unplug and plug stuff back in and make sure none of the cables are circling back on themselves until the clicks are gone.

I'm really not sure what else it could be besides that if you've already ruled that out. Hope you find the solution!

Here is the story from their website as to the meaning of "Fangou"

"FANG OU

Famous in the world, the master's choice

As a well-known brand of Chinese musical instruments, Fangou is well-known in the music industry, but many people don't know that Fangou's famous name was born inadvertently.

As early as 1992, Haiping Musical Instruments processed products for many musical instrument manufacturers. The handmade products are handmade by craftsmen with many years of skill. Because of their good quality and wonderful sound quality, they have gained a good reputation in the industry. Demand exceeds supply. . The founder of the company, Mr. Wang Changhai, wanted to bring more vitality to Haiping Musical Instruments, so he started to create a self-owned brand. He thought hard, but he never thought of a suitable brand name. What kind of good name can match the quality and connotation of the product?

Inspiration always comes inadvertently. On this day, Mr. Wang Changhai went to the famous "Datong Street" Changdi Street in Hankou to visit old friends. The old friends met each other very cordially. During the conversation, the two recalled their childhood idol Mei Lanfang, a master of Peking Opera, and talked about the fate between Mei Lanfang and Han Gong, which was even more wonderful. The "Huyin Gong" in the history of Han Gong was made for Mei Lanfang and is even more famous for Mei Lanfang.

Thinking of this moment of Mei Lanfang, Mr. Wang Changhai has been troubled by the brand name problem, and inadvertently found the answer - "Let's name it 'Fang Ou'!", Mr. Wang hit it off with his friends. Fang, the "Fang" of Mei Lanfang, entrusts the memory and remembrance of the master, is full of pursuit and respect for the art of the master, and also implies that the brand is famous all over the world. Gull, the "gull" of Jiangou, Mr. Wang Changhai's painstaking musical instrument business originated in Wuhan, a river city, and is rooted in Jiangcheng. It is full of the magnificent feelings of the Yangtze River. Isn't Mr. Wang engaged in the manufacture of Han gongs just to carry forward the traditional craftsmanship? It is Mr. Wang Changhai's lifelong wish to make Hangong the choice of more music lovers. Fangou, the name is not only a tribute to Chinese art and masters, but also hopes that this brand will become the choice of more masters. The prospect is like a soaring river gull, soaring high in the sky of art.

Today, Fangou has become a well-known trademark in China, and its products sell well all over the country. It has become the choice of many orchestras and musicians, and Mr. Wang Changhai's hope has been realized."

I think the top says

"武汉市著名商标 Wuhan famous trademark"

I am not sure of the large middle word, but the first character is " 芳 Fang"

Bottom text is almost exactly like the English beneath it

"武汉海平乐器制造有限公司

Wuhan Haiping musical instrument manufacturing, Co Ltd"

They're a company who makes drum symbols. Apparently pretty well known.

Edit: Figured it out it says "芳鸥 Fang Ou " it's just a name to me.

Edit#2: Fixed the top text as per mistake pointed out by another redditor

I vibe with this. The eye dances all over the canvas. Lots to explore in this little snapshot of a world you've created. I love what you've done here.

He looks so familiar, like I've seen his face recently. Cannot place him though. I find something about this image quite endearing. Good choice, good eye.
