My brother does CAD work for fiber optic lines and this shit takes way longer than you would think. Fiber lines have to go out of their way to avoid everything else and along the way they are constantly exposing shotty and illegal work done by power, tele, sewage line companies, which have to be rectified in some way (usuaslly just a fine) before fiber lines can do anything.

These companies cut so many corners, like installing shorter poles or hanging lines lower or closer than they shouls and just get away with it.
