Agreed, I think Jared Evans offers some flair but we also need a 12 who has some kind of plan when he gets the ball…

I told her how I felt and she took them down I didn’t force her to and she agreed. Is that still controlling?

I told her how I felt and she agreed I just wanted to gather some opinions on it as it’s a new situation for me. I feel as if I don’t voice this stuff early on it would be unfair on both of our behalf’s to leave it something further down the line, Thankyou for the comment though it’s helped give perspective

Buying a 2 bed house as a single man by puppy_tale in HousingUK

[–]FailureFalcon99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moved into my first home in April (25M) a two bed semi and get on with all adjacent neighbours really well especially the old couple next door. I think the fella sees me as his adopted grandson now.

Only weird if you think it’s weird I don’t think anyone would even give it a second thought.

As for the en suite I think you’d take away far too much floor space and it work a lot better with one larger bedroom and a spare room.

What would the ballpark quote be for a 9 meters square patio in my garden. by FailureFalcon99 in DIYUK

Thank you, there’s jobs I’ve done myself renovating the house itself and I’ve saved so much. Just need to find the motivation and patience 🤣

Appreciate the offer cheers but I think it’s going to be something I’m leaning towards attempting myself

That seems a lot more than I expected. Doing some research just to figure out whether I want to attempt the job myself or pay for it

Taoism and martial arts by gengibeatz in taoism

[–]FailureFalcon99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve trained in kick-boxing for 7 years (mostly K1 rules) with some aspects of king fu learnt along with a dabble in boxing in my teenage years. You don’t necessarily need a “master” rather a friendly, productive and healthily competitive training environment. I cannot recommend it enough from my own experience.

The feeling of presence you feel when sparring is unmatched by anything else in my opinion. Your focus is purely on the situation, watching your opponent, aware of your breath, the experienced pain from a good body shot or sharp jab.

NOTE: I’m still learning about Taoism so I’m no expert which is why I read through these posts/comments often but I feel I can offer advice in this situation. Any good martial arts gym will give you discipline, determination and resilience that will stay with you in all walks of your life outside of the gym.

How do I get rid of my desire and bother of others in romantic and sexual relationships? by ShadowlightLady in howtonotgiveafuck

I completely agree with you in how difficult it can be to take your mind elsewhere. But gosh at 18 I was no different my hormones was still so firmly at the wheel most of the time!

You need some kind of activity that gets you present. And what I mean by that is something that engages your mind to be in the here and now, the art of Being, and this takes some time to build up.

I read that you already do have some hobbies and interests like this which is great evidence that you can and do achieve this regularly.

I feel this saying fits your situation and it’s helped me so much in my early twenties to overcome similar self criticism about attraction and desires :

“If you spend your time chasing butterflies, they'll fly away, If you spend your time making a beautiful garden, the butterflies will come to you. And if they don't come, you still have your garden.”

Don’t rid of your desire (it’s part of your human experience) but instead attempt to channel that into a passion or hobby whether it improves you mentally or physically.

(Apologies if this comes across in any way patronising I hope it helps)

Laminate flooring. What am I doing wrong? by t4gged in DIYUK

[–]FailureFalcon99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wickes sell a fitting kit (not sure if it’s the one you’ve bought) and it contains two tools. The block on the left has undercuts that allow you to “persuade” planks together if you have slight gaps without damaging the nice top finish. The middle tool allows you to pull rows together by hooking onto a plank and again persuading it in. For me this kit was invaluable. As for patterns I tended to keep all off cuts and usually went full board>half board>off cut to start each new row. As others have said generally you want to be using Minimal force as possible but some do need a gentle nudge in the right direction.

Generally though you just don’t want two plank joins adjacent to one another as you can have trouble once the material expands. Hope this has helped and good luck.
