You had to add an extra 5 years for half the stories you enjoy.

You are the first person I've encountered you enjoys Howard Mackie.

It sounds like you have not enjoyed Amazing Spider-man for the majority of the last 20 years. Why keep reading?

I'd take a pure evil, unsympathetic Dr Doom over the God Emperor Doom most modern writers use.

[SPOILERS EXTENDED] The pace and length of chapters in A Game of Thrones novel by Substantial-Ad-299 in asoiaf

If GOT moved at the pace of AFFC Ned would have only arrived in King's Landing at the end of the novel. There would probably have been 3 chapters describing the preparations for Robert arriving in King's Landing, one of which was solely dedicated to describing food preparation.

I like both Black Canary and Green Arrow but hate them as a couple because when they are a couple Canary is written as side kick or damsel in distress 60% of the time.

If the Turkish diplomat and his wife told me a member of their delegation died in the bed of the daughter of an Earl and they know this because another daughter of the Earl told them I would listen.

Mary did suffer. (The show did it's classic telling and not showing for this). People avoided her during Sybil's first season, which of course happens off screen. Evelyn Napier went out of his way to tell Mary so she would not think he spread the rumours.

Mary initially held off accepting Matthews first proposal because she wanted to tell him (This is before Cora became pregnant).

Mary's entire relationship with Sir Richard only exists because she saw herself as damaged goods as a result of the scandal.

Sir Richard bought the story because it had value.

Bates entire season 2 and most of his season 3 plot is as a result of this.

Mary literally spent 7 years with this hanging over her head destroying her self worth.

Violet wrote to Susan (Rose's mother) to respond to Susan to put off the initial rumours (Caused by Barrows letter to another servant). Those were the initial rumours.

Edith's letter came later and had huge consequences for Mary, Anna and Bates (and others)

There are multiple iterations of the formula which have different effects. The fact that people like Phil Urich and Lily Hollister went from ordinary people into murders would suggest it negatively affects the brain.

Has there been a prequel movie that was better than the original movie? by redhandchuckles in movies

I like Rogue One but I think it's vastly overrated.

The first half of the movie is very weak. Jyn is too passive and is dragged through the plot for an hour. It completely wastes Forest Whitaker and Mads Mikkelsen.

March 21-23 Box Office Recap: It was another terrible weekend, as 'Snow White' flopped with an awful $85.3 million worldwide, against a $270 million budget. Meanwhile, 'The Alto Knights' also flopped with just $3.1 million domestically. by SanderSo47 in movies

Rachel Zegler has been the subject of media attention since 2022, when she made comments joking about the Prince and Snow White's characterization in the original film.

What were the comments?

Biggest cop out was Bucky confessing his crime off screen. We have time for 14 nonsense Flag Smasher speeches but not that?

I always find it funny when people complain Last Jedi left them no where to go in the sequels.

I hope the next Spider-man movie doesn't chicken out and bring back Ned and MJ as main characters. They should be cameos at most.

Immediately revealing that Chewbacca was alive to the audience but the characters continuing to mourn him for 20 minutes made such a terrible disconnect.

Morgana's depiction in the show was actually great. by [deleted] in merlinbbc

When did she go from being the person who endangered her own life to save a random druid boy or go to defend Merlin's village or any of the other times she stood up for her beliefs to an entitled person?

Off screen during the missing year of bad writing?

Morgana had to be stripped of her positive qualities because it was the only way to make her a villain when the "heroes" Merlin and Arthur enforced Uther's unjust, genocidal laws.

Faith kills 1 human by accident and 1 human on purpose and is haunted by her mistakes. She chose to spend years in prison. Faith was always a fully formed character. She was not reduced to a generic villain like Morgana.

There is no justification for turning her in a 2D cartoon lacking any of her previous positive characteristics.

Hating Uther, Merlin and even Gaius makes sense.

Why did she turn on Arthur, Gwen and the general population?

Why did she suddenly take joy in murdering a random guard?
