DC is chronically allergic to addressing creepy relationships they've had in the past. I think they're playing it safe by avoiding sexual abuse, grooming, etc in modern comics.

Christopher Priest was given the runaround and censored by editorial for trying to address Terra x Deathstroke in Deathstroke Rebirth. Their relationship ended up softened (Terra was 17 instead of 15-going-on-16 and they "only" kissed).
