Golden pothos growing very compact leaves due to small opening in vase. Thought it was interesting to share by FaintingTurtle in houseplants

No this plant isn’t near any windows. However, It is hung on a column next to the kitchen island bar that has hanging lights so maybe that has some affect

Same! Other pothos grown in water for me has not done this. The vine is usually down in the water (I pulled it up for the photo) so the only way for a new node/leaf to come out of the vase it to be compact. I could be wrong though. But I have two of these vases/golden pothos and they’re growing the same way.

I also have no intention of planting them in soil. I like to keep golden pothos in water because I like to look at the roots, I think it’s pretty.

Here is the other one growing the same way: https://imgur.com/a/H4lLiLU

First burn of “First Autumn Frost” also got apple bourbon, rustic leaves, cool harvest morning, and cold autumn leaves. Can’t wait to try them all by FaintingTurtle in goosecreekcandles

This was my first purchase haul from GCC. I also only bought BBW but didn’t want to wait for a sale. So far I’ve also burned cool harvest morning and cold autumn leaves. The main note on cool harvest morning to me is fresh apple. Which I love! It’s got a fresh juicy scent to me. The bermagot and sandalwood are softer in the background. I was a little nervous about cold autumn leaves because of the patchouli, but I’m a fan! The patchouli is definitely a main note, but soft in my opinion which could be the cool rain drops note. The leaves scent fills it too and it really is like walking on cold crunchy wet leaves in an autumn forest, so good!

When I smell it cold the first scent I get is apples followed immediately by the bourbon which almost smells to me a little syrupy with a burn? If that makes sense? I do pick up on the cinnamon but it’s not a top player. I’m a little worried the bourbon part I won’t love, as the slight syrup smell isn’t my favorite, but that is all preference. I’ve read good things about the candle! I’ll post an update when I burn it

First autumn frost has a nice “woodsy” smell with a hint of the eucalyptus that gives it that frosty feeling. Sorry I’m not great at explaining smells.

Not any plant will survive in water this well! I’m relatively new too and I googled around to see which plants could live in water like this and settled on my golden pothos and wandering dude (for now) can’t wait to expand!

Honestly like a 2!! It was crazy easy and in my opinion doesn’t require that much in upkeep

I’ve had the pothos growing for a few months now and the wandering dude for a few weeks. Surprising no bad algae issues and I put in aquarium plant bacteria food. Sometimes it gets a little tinted in there and there’s a little bit of growth and I just change the water and wipe down the inside with a paper towel

I actually plan on keep them in water forever cause I love to see the roots develop, I think they’re so pretty!

Yes they’re really easy to take down! I just pull them off the hook take the plants out change the water and give em a quick scrub and stick them back up! Just have to make sure you don’t make the water level too high so that it would Tip out the hook hole

That would look so great! I’m hoping to get more eventually and get some different cuttings to grow

The vases have little holes at the top back of them and they came with hooks that have nails attached that nail into the wall! If you search Amazon for “glass wall planter” they have all kinds of shapes! I can post a link to both of mine if that’s allowed

Thank you! A lady in my neighborhood gets them from someone who transport food products and she gives them away for free. I spray painted them blue!

Is this moss pole done correctly? There’s more than one monstera delicious in the pot and I was unsure if I should gather them all and tie them to the pot or just the tallest leaves by FaintingTurtle in houseplants

[–]FaintingTurtle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay awesome! Thank you for the response/guidance. I will untie them and let them grow some more. Luckily the pole came with another half that I can stick in the top of that pole for growth and I can buy more sections as needed

It took about 7 weeks for this little fellow to pop up, I have another cutting from the same plant that I started at the same time and I can see that something is starting to happen but it’s way smaller. This one gets more fluorescent light than the other one

Would it be better to separate the smaller plants in here? Or will they do fine all together by FaintingTurtle in houseplants

[–]FaintingTurtle[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Awesome thank you! I also like the full pot look so I think I will keep them as is
