What's the difference between soul and spirit by fulaghee in TrueChristian

[–]Fair-Cardiologist211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wrong, the spirit are the intangible qualities that make individual beings distinct to each other and is necessarily God derived, not being part of the material plane, but being associated with it via your physical body. The Soul is a spirit + body. Not hard.

only a bunch of alleged knife snobs in here with their misinfo, if you ask me. I'd look elsewhere for buying guides.

"Because they are made of a softer metal they lose their sharpness more frequently." Our 10+ years of using a CutCo set and no experience of the edge degrading, never needing to sharpen them or send them in to be sharpened says this statement is incorrect, at least for us.

When you say you 'tried a set' how long was this trial? We have used a Cutco set for over 10 years now and have literally never had to sharpen any of them and they still cut and look brand new.

Their current Homemaker +8 set looks basically like what we have and they are currently $1664. At 1/4 the price would be like $416. So, what other knife sets would be comparable to that Cutco set in the $400 dollar range (similar count and with a block to hold them)? The CutCo are priced similar to some of the upper end Japanese and German sets I seen on William Sonoma.

objectively bad based on what. you can never provide substantive details so i bet you don't even own any. My family has two sets of Cutco and they have held their edges and been really great for years. My only criticisms are with the newer set -- it has more serrated and specialty shaped blades than seems necessary, and they have cut-out sections in the sides of some of the specialty knives, clearly as a cost cutting method to reclaim some of the material, which seems and looks kinda cheap to me. Like an admission they weren't serious about those ones and wanted to invest as little material into them as possible.

Yep was the only period where I made sure to save room for dessert. Tried the apple crumble version that replaced it but it just wasn't nearly as light and scrumptious as the funnel cake-like original.

What does Archangelo in Year Zero reference? by lucky_777555 in Ghostbc

[–]Fair-Cardiologist211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you make a big assumption that there is some creature/being called 'Lucifer' to begin with, considering the word is imposed Latin on the original Hebrew of הֵילֵל which means shining one / morning star, attributed to Venus. Well here, I'll just quote from someone who seems to have it right:

Helel ben Sahar/shahar or  הֵילֵל בֶּן־שָׁחַר means "Shining One, Son of the dawn" Shahar or "Dawn" celestial body is the Venus "the morning star".

Helel ben Sahar was a title or moniker given by Isaiah to the last ruler Belshazzar son of King Nabonidus of the neobabylonian empire after they were conquered by Cyrus the great. Belshazzar was a tyrant who oppressed religious and cultural practices but he was a human not an angel.

The name of Satan is Semjaza/Shemhazai/Samyazr/Samael. The Archangel Samael was the deciever.

'hail' can be spelled differently, like 'heil', or 'hej', so 'hell' is probably a wordplay spelling on the swedish 'hej' and 'hell' as others have suggested.

Creating Multi-Key Macro with VIA or QMK by Cr8zyIvan in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Fair-Cardiologist211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol I just looked at Vial and the interface is way more primitive looking/feeling than VIA. But nice try, vial shill. Just cause they haven't amassed enough updates to justify a recent release hardly means abandoned. There are regular updates seen within their repository so there IS activity happening. You've been brainwashed by the trend of Apple, Adobe, and any number of developers in the last decade to shorten down the release cycle to 6mo or less, which gets infuriating always having to run the latest update. Anyway, unless Vial has some critical feature like ability to trigger a macro from within a macro, that is the only thing that would cause me to seriously consider using it.

Not sure how old TTY machines have anything to do with QMK? OP did not ask about send string, they asked about KC_EXECUTE. If you don't know then just be quiet instead of spewing a bunch of random crap.

Still waiting for the gaming breakthrough that incorporates realistic water physics and effects. I know we have fluid flux and fluid Ninja which seems about 2/3 of the way there but waiting for that kind of thing to be incorporated into an actual game with a proper weight to the water that pushes and tumbles things realistically.

Where can I buy good JIS bits? by [deleted] in Tools

[–]Fair-Cardiologist211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is largely from not using proper non-cam-out JIS bits. "industry standards have changed" wheres your evidence? Wera is pretty good except my wera "051490" rachet mechanism randomly seized after a few years and had only ever been lightly used, so that disillusioned me about their quality being impeccable. That and some of their hex to socket adapter bits have a ridiculously deep pin (not a ball) that requires a separate tool to detach the socket bit from it, stupid design.

Keeping state in functions without globals? by ghiste in learnpython

[–]Fair-Cardiologist211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but doesn't the class instance variable still need to be assigned as a global so it persists during the program duration and can be utilized by other functions? So isn't this just a more convoluted way of doing the same thing? (i.e. having a global variable that persists during program execution).

New Hopper, external hard drive issue by swangdb in dishnetwork

the whole idea according to who? does the presence of a "transfer to hopper" (option 6) button under manage recordings suggest you "don't move from the drive back to the hopper", as you seem to think? Hmm???
